WEYAUWEGA, WI – Weyauwega Fire Department authorities are urging immediate action for residents along the Wolf River due to a developing emergency involving a potential dam failure on the upper Little Wolf River.
Emergency crews have begun evacuation procedures in affected areas, and residents living on Guth Road, Kurth Drive, Deer Haven Road, Ona Pines Road, and County Road F near Gill’s Landing are considered to be in the threatened zone. Officials are advising anyone in these locations to evacuate their homes as soon as possible.
Residents should leave promptly and bring essential items, including wallets, purses, medications, phones, important documents, and pets. Emergency personnel stress that taking these necessities now can help avoid complications later.
For those who do not have a safe place to stay, a temporary shelter has been established at Weyauwega City Hall on Main Street, where the community center is open and available to assist evacuees.
