Police Activity reported by local law enforcement
SHAWANO POLICE
Shawano Police handled a busy start to the week with a wide range of calls including theft, disorderly conduct, welfare checks, crashes, and multiple disturbances across the city.
The day began just after midnight with a reported stolen vehicle in the Waukechon Road and East Lieg Avenue area. Later in the early morning, officers responded to a disorderly conduct complaint at North Main Street involving an alleged assault, followed by a welfare check involving a man found sleeping in a running vehicle near Lafayette and Sunset.
Through the morning, police were called to several quality-of-life complaints including repeated noise issues at Sturgeon Park, a suspicious situation on North Lafayette Street, and a reported sex offense involving inappropriate photos shared between individuals at a local volunteer organization.
Midday brought additional calls including a disturbance at Cellcom on North Main Street, a welfare check on South Smalley Street, and the recovery of a found iPhone on East 5th Street. Officers also assisted with a medical call at Safe Haven where a woman believed she was going into labor.
In the afternoon and evening, officers responded to a harassment complaint on South Lincoln Street involving repeated drive-bys and yelling, a hit-and-run crash at the post office where a vehicle reportedly backed into a parked car and left the scene, and multiple 911 calls including one at ThedaCare Medical Center.
Later in the day, police handled a welfare check involving an elderly resident who had not been seen for several days, investigated reports of drug activity at a South County B apartment, and responded to a fleeing and pursuit incident involving multiple units.
The night wrapped up with additional disturbances, harassment complaints at a local restaurant, an information report involving reported theft concerns, and multiple welfare and medical calls involving vulnerable individuals.
SHAWANO SHERIFF
Shawano County Sheriff’s deputies handled a steady mix of traffic issues, welfare checks, and public safety calls throughout Monday.
The day began just before 3 a.m. with a traffic hazard at Highway 47 and Hofa Park Road in the Town of Bovina after a dead deer was reported in the roadway.
Early morning hours also included multiple disabled vehicles along Highway 29 and County Highway J, with deputies assisting motorists in Tigerton and surrounding areas.
At around 7 a.m., emergency crews responded to a serious welfare check in Pulaski on Rosemary Drive involving a woman reported to be self-harming and threatening further injury. Deputies and EMS were dispatched to the scene.
Shortly after, deputies were involved in transport duties, including movement of inmates between facilities such as Taycheedah and the Shawano County Jail, as well as probation-related transports.
Midday activity included reckless driving complaints on Highway 29 and Highway 32, a lost property report involving items found off the roadway, and an abandoned vehicle at a business lot in Wittenberg.
Deputies also responded to a civil complaint in Gresham involving a tenant-landlord dispute, along with multiple traffic hazards and a controlled burning complaint in the Town of Bowler area due to reported smoke conditions.
In the afternoon, law enforcement assisted fire and emergency medical calls across the county, including CO alarm checks, medical assists, and welfare checks involving elderly and vulnerable residents.
A fleeing and pursuit incident was reported just after 5:30 p.m. in Shawano, drawing multiple units before being cleared later in the evening.
Evening hours stayed active with several traffic hazards caused by standing water, downed trees, and roadway flooding conditions across rural roads and state highways.
The day wrapped up with a late-night jail transport out of Shawano County and continued monitoring of roadway conditions as storms and flooding impacted the region.
CLINTONVILLE POLICE
Clintonville Police handled a busy mix of calls Monday, ranging from traffic issues and crashes to theft and multiple reports tied to roadway hazards.
The day began just after 5 a.m. with mutual aid requested on West Beacon Avenue, followed by routine extra patrols on Rohrer Street and Anne Street during the early morning hours.
Just before 8 a.m., officers responded to a property damage crash on West Madison Street.
Late morning activity included a 911 call on West Morning Glory Drive, along with a school resource officer presentation on Harriet Street. Additional school-related extra patrols were conducted on West Green Tree Road.
Around midday, officers handled multiple traffic stops in the North 12th Street area, along with a citizen assist on West Green Tree Road.
In the afternoon, another 911 call came in from West Green Tree Road, followed by a suspicious person report on Memorial Circle.
Evening hours were especially active with a series of traffic hazard calls across multiple locations, including McKinley Avenue and 16th Street, Robert Street and 16th Street, Bennett Street, Flora Way and Flora Circle, and Highway D near Golf Club Road. A utility problem was also reported on Brix Street during this time.
Later in the night, officers investigated a theft report on West Morning Glory Drive.
The day wrapped up just before midnight with another traffic hazard reported on Memorial Circle.
