SHAWANO, WI – The Shawano School District is moving forward with a search for a new administrator after learning last week that current Shawano High School Principal Matthew Raduechel, will be leaving for a position in another district.
Superintendent Kurt Krizan says the news was first shared internally before the district quickly began the hiring process. “Matt let his staff know on Wednesday that he was going to be taking a position in another district,” Krizan said. “We wanted to post as soon as we could, so we posted Thursday morning. We normally leave that open about two weeks.”
Krizan says once the posting period closes, the district will move into the next phase of the hiring process, which includes screening applicants and bringing selected candidates in for on-site interviews. The goal is to move efficiently while still finding the right fit for the district.
“With a plan, we would have a contract approved sometime in June so that the person could start right away July 1,” Krizan said.
District officials confirmed that both internal and external candidates will be considered as part of the search. Radeuchel joined the Shawano School District in 2023, leaves behind a position the district is hoping to fill ahead of the upcoming school year.
