SHAWANO, WI- The Shawano School District announced Wednesday that head boys basketball coach Dave Ambrosius will not be returning to the program.
In a letter to players and families dated April 8, Director of Activities and Athletics Kayla Brendemuehl thanked Ambrosius for his years of service, dedication and commitment to student-athletes and the school community.
The district says all scheduled basketball activities, including open gyms, summer league and workouts, will continue as planned during the transition. Officials say they are committed to maintaining consistency and support for players.
Macguire Flood will serve as interim head coach while the district begins an immediate search for a permanent replacement.
District officials say they are focused on finding a leader who will continue to build on the strengths of the program and support the development of student-athletes both on and off the court.
