SHAWANO, WI- Shawano County Supervisor Jeremy Gretzinger will be accepting write-in votes in Tuesday’s election for District 7 seat that he left vacant.
After months of uncertainty, Jeremy Gretzinger found himself rethinking a decision he once felt certain about.
In the fall of 2025, he stepped away from reelection plans for his Shawano County Board seat so he could focus on his family after his wife, Melanie Gretzinger, was diagnosed with cancer. The months that followed were filled with long hospital days, a major surgery in October, complications, and a radioactive treatment in February. Family became the center of everything.
But slowly, hope began to return. As Melanie made encouraging progress, the weight of uncertainty lifted just enough for Jeremy to reconsider what he had put on hold.
With his wife’s support and his love for the community still strong, Gretzinger decided to run again for the District 7 seat on the Shawano County Board, this time with renewed gratitude, perspective, and purpose.
