Yvonne Wolf, age 89 of Shawano, passed away in her home surrounded by her family on Friday, April 3, 2026.
Yvonne was born August 29, 1936 in Milwaukee, WI, daughter to the late Theodore & Dorothy (Rude) Groenwoldt. On October 30, 1954, Yvonne was united in marriage to Theodore F. Wolf at Christus Lutheran Church, Clintonville, and together they raised four children.
In 1968, Yvonne began her career with the Shawano School District as the school secretary at Olga Brener Elementary School. She loved her job and looked forward to each new year and the new batch of children she got to meet. She took great pride in making every parent and child feel welcome and special. Through the years she spoke with joy at meeting many of those children as adults with their own children. She retired in 1998 after 30 years of service to the community.
Yvonne was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Shawano. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. In her younger years, she loved to golf, plant and tend her flowers, and was an avid reader. She was a great mom, grandmother, wife and friend, who will be deeply missed.

Brothers-in-law: Terry (Shirley) Wolf & Thomas Wolf
Yvonne was preceded in death by her siblings, Theodore Groenwoldt, Sophie Benrud, Glen Axne, Margaret Pagel, Elaine Maggard, Mary Molitor, & Sharon Duxbury; as well as her parents, Theodore & Dorothy.
A private graveside with inurnment will be held at Graceland Cemetery, Clintonville, with the Rev. Scott Ludford officiating.
Memorials and donations given in Yvonne’s name are encouraged to be directed to the American Cancer Society.
The Wolf family wishes to thank ThedaCare At Home Hospice, especially her nurse Sabrina, for the wonderful care provided. They would also like to thank the entire South Hamlin St. neighborhood for caring for and looking after Ted and Yvonne over the years.
