Alan E. Marquardt, age 73 of the Town of Dupont, passed away on Tuesday morning, March 31, 2026 at Care Partners Assisted Living, Clintonville with his family by his side.
Alan Eugene Marquardt was born on October 6, 1952, to the late Norman and Lois (Seefeldt) Marquardt. His lifelong love of music was inspired by his mother, who first shared that passion with him. Alan graduated proudly from Marion High School in 1970, where his musical path was further shaped by his teacher, Larry Schuster. He continued his education at the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point, earning a double major with degrees in music education and vocal performance.
In 1975, Alan began his remarkable career as a music educator with the Bowler School District. Over the next 50 years, he dedicated himself to teaching and inspiring generations of students before retiring in 2025 due to health concerns. His career was filled with memorable achievements, including leading the Bowler marching band at the Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, D.C., and organizing performance trips to music festivals in Dallas and Atlanta. He also traveled throughout Europe with his students as part of the Wisconsin Ambassadors of Music program, visiting England, France, Switzerland, Germany, and Austria.
Outside of his professional life, Alan enjoyed a wide range of interests and was known for his kind and generous spirit. He loved hunting whitetail deer with his family, caring for his gardens, and sharing his musical talents by playing in various polka bands over the years. A devoted brother and loyal friend, Alan was always willing to help others whenever he could.
Alan is survived by his siblings: Edward Marquardt; Steve (Nancy) Marquardt; Roger (Darlene) Marquardt; and Leanne Marquardt; along with many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He is also remembered by his close friends, Gary (Marina) Kuchenbecker and Denise Brodbeck.
