Mae I. Miller, age 95 of Shawano, passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning, March 31,
2026, at Care Partners in Clintonville where she had been a resident for the past three years.
Mae was born in Milwaukee on May 29, 1930, a daughter of the late Julius and Anna Kolp. She
attended and graduated from high school in Milwaukee. Following school Mae worked at a
candy factory and later was employed by the Briggs & Stratton Corporation for several years.
She then went to work at Aluminum Industries making patio doors and windows.
On November 26, 1949, Mae was united in marriage to Marc Miller in Milwaukee. In the late
1980’s the couple moved to Shawano. They enjoyed traveling and working on house projects
together. Mae enjoyed knitting and sewing. Mr. Miller preceded her in death in 2008.
Survivors include two sons, Scott Miller of Plymouth, WI, and Curtis Miller of Fergus Falls,
MN; four grandchildren, Josh (Dani) Miller, Heather Miller, Eric Miller, and Lainee Miller; five
great-grandchildren; and her sister, Barbara Ratkowski from Milwaukee. Mae was preceded in
death by her brothers, James, and Gene, and her sisters, Lucille, Alice, Georgianne, and Annie.
A graveside service for Mae will be held at King Veterans Cemetery in King, WI at a later date.
