Shawano Police stayed busy throughout the day on Tuesday, Officers were first dispatched just after midnight after a caller reported hearing a woman yelling for help near Center and Lincoln Streets. Authorities located individuals in the area, and the situation remains under investigation.
Later in the morning, police investigated a suspicious vehicle that had been sitting occupied in a parking lot for several hours. That call was cleared without incident.
A theft complaint was also reported when a vehicle’s registration sticker was cut from a license plate. Meanwhile, officers handled a shoplifting case at a local business where a suspect had already left the scene.
Authorities also responded to multiple reckless driving complaints throughout the day, including one report of a vehicle traveling more than 100 miles per hour through a school zone.
In the afternoon, police took one person into custody at the probation and parole office.
The day also included drug-related complaints, welfare checks, and numerous service calls such as vehicle lockouts.
Clintonville Police handled a variety of calls yesterday. Officers conducted multiple early morning business checks along 9th Street and South Main Street as part of routine patrol efforts.
A traffic stop was made around 3:30 a.m. near South Main and 11th Street, with additional patrols continuing into the morning hours, including extra attention in residential areas and a school patrol on West Green Tree Road.
In the afternoon, police responded to a citizen dispute and a reported fraud case, both on Modoc Street.
Officers also assisted with a lost-and-found report on South Main Street and a citizen assist near North Lyons and 7th Street.
Several more traffic stops were conducted later in the day, including along East Morning Glory Drive and at South Main and County Highway I.
The day wrapped up with a mental health-related call on Glendale Court just before 9 p.m.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office responded to more than 30 incidents across the county on Tuesday. Deputies handled several 9-1-1 calls throughout the day, including early morning and evening reports that were ultimately determined to be accidental or non-emergency situations.
Traffic-related incidents were a major focus, with multiple reports of reckless driving across the county. In one case, a maroon SUV was reported traveling more than 100 miles per hour through a school zone near Bonduel. Other calls described vehicles weaving across lanes and creating hazardous conditions along Highway 29 and other major routes.
Authorities also responded to several traffic hazards and a property damage crash in the Village of Bonduel during the afternoon.
Animal-related complaints kept deputies busy as well. Incidents included loose dogs in Birnamwood, a report involving a dog being shot during a domestic situation in the Town of Eland, and a call about a deer that needed to be put down near Shawano.
Additional calls included a harassment complaint involving an ongoing dispute, an ATV complaint involving juveniles performing dangerous stunts on a roadway, and a suspicious person reported at a Shawano business late in the evening.
