SHAWANO, WI- The future of Shawano wrestling is shining bright after a historic performance at the youth state wrestling tournament.
Leading the way was Adeline Tomow, who captured the state title in the 65-pound division. The win marks Shawano’s first youth state champion since 2016 and the program’s first-ever girls youth state champion.
Shawano also celebrated a runner-up finish from Meredith Buettner, who placed second in the 120-pound division.
In total, Shawano had eight youth wrestlers earn podium finishes at the state meet, highlighting the strength and growth of the program.
Coaches and supporters say the milestone results signal a strong future for Shawano wrestling as young athletes continue to make their mark at the state level.
