Beverly Jean McKay was born on August 22, 1947 in Waupaca County as the daughter of the late Glen and Gladys (LeBeck) McKay. She graduated from Clintonville High School in 1965 and was united in marriage to Gary Soltis. The couple had a daughter and later divorced. After moving to Abilene, TX, Bev met Glenn Copus and the couple were united in marriage on August 19, 1988. They returned to Clintonville in 1993 to care for Bev’s mother where they ran a bar called ‘Lil Texas’. Bev loved visiting with the patrons as she quite possibly had the most outgoing personality of anyone ever in history. Her bubbly personality drew her to countless people and friendships over the years. She often continued talking even if she wasn’t sure they were listening anymore or not. She definitely was a spitfire, but one who would do anything for someone in need and just naturally brightened your day. Some of the other places Bev worked in town were at Fleet Farm, Park Place, Erickson’s, and the Rec Center. In her free time, Bev enjoyed working on puzzles, bowling, and really shined when it came to hosting friends for a cookout or a get together. She also became a big fan of the Milwaukee Brewers throughout the years. Her family takes solace in that Bev knew her Lord and Savior and was simply put, one of the best. Bev….you’ll be missed.
