SHAWANO COUNTY, WI – The next phase of the Shawano County courthouse and jail project is now underway as planning shifts toward final design and bidding.
Kurt Burner of the Samuels Group says the immediate priority is turning preliminary plans into detailed bidding documents that will guide the construction process. He says that work includes coordination with the city, utility providers, and the Department of Corrections to ensure all aspects of the project are accurate and ready for construction.
Once those documents are finalized, Brunner says the project will move into the bidding phase, where estimates are developed and sent out to contractors.
He notes that the work will be broken into smaller bid packages, allowing more local contractors the opportunity to compete for portions of the project.
Brunner adds that his team will continue to provide regular updates to the Shawano County Board as timelines take shape and the project moves closer to construction.
