Shawano Police handled a wide range of calls Tuesday, including a threatening phone incident and reports of counterfeit money.
Officers were called to Birch Hill Health Care Center after staff reported repeated phone calls, including one in which the caller allegedly said, “you are all going to die.” Authorities are investigating that incident.
Meanwhile, police are also looking into counterfeit currency after a Shawano gas station reported receiving a fake 50-dollar bill — the third such case reported at their locations within the past week.
Earlier in the day, officers responded to a welfare check near the airport after a person was reportedly sitting motionless in a damaged vehicle overnight. The situation was checked and cleared.
Other calls included a truck striking a power pole on River Heights Drive, leaving a cable hanging low, a minor parking lot crash at Aldi, and a report of property damage at Walmart involving a vehicle hitting cart returns.
Police also handled several animal complaints, harassment reports, and routine service calls throughout the day.
Clintonville Police handled a steady mix of calls over the past 24 hours. Officers conducted multiple early morning business checks across the city, including North and South Main Street, 6th Street, and Bennett Street.
Extra patrols were logged just after 6 a.m. on 9th and Anne Streets.
Two welfare checks were carried out around midday on West Campus Drive and South Clinton Avenue.
Police also responded to a suspicious situation on Harriet Street early in the afternoon, followed by a threatening complaint on West Morning Glory Drive just before 4 p.m.
Later in the day, officers handled parking enforcement on 9th Street and a report of a suspicious person on North 12th Street.
Evening calls included a noise complaint on 16th Street, a theft on South Main Street, and a disabled vehicle also along South Main.
Several additional suspicious activity calls were reported throughout the night, along with a traffic stop late in the evening.
The day wrapped up with Clintonville Police assisting another agency at Main and 6th Streets.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office responded to 35 incidents across the county on March 24th, ranging from traffic complaints to thefts and emergency calls.
The day began early with a disorderly conduct incident just before 4 a.m. at the Shawano County Jail on North Main Street, where a physical altercation was reported.
Morning hours saw several reckless driving complaints, including along Highway 22 in Cecil, Highway 45 near Birnamwood, and Highway 29. Deputies also handled an animal-related call involving an injured deer near County Road J.
At the Shawano County Courthouse, multiple security-related calls were logged throughout the morning as part of routine operations.
Late morning included a suspicious situation reported via a home security camera in the Bowler area, along with a 911 hang-up call near Birnamwood that required follow-up.
Deputies also responded to a variety of service calls, including a residential lockout, a triggered alarm at a local business, and reports of animals in the roadway.
In the afternoon, authorities handled a trespassing complaint and civil dispute on Airport Road in Bowler, along with a disabled vehicle near Highway 29 and County Road G.
Several thefts were reported during the day, including a stolen firearm in the Birnamwood area and construction materials taken from a property near Clintonville.
Law enforcement also carried out an eviction in Pulaski and made multiple warrant-related arrests and transports involving other agencies.
Evening calls included a 911 hang-up in the Bowler area, a theft complaint in Tigerton, and a welfare check involving a resident in that same area.
The day ended with an active probation violation case late at night.
