Shawano Police responded to a series of calls throughout the day on March 16th, including multiple alarms, vehicle issues, and a potentially dangerous carbon monoxide incident.
Officers were first called just after 2 a.m. to an alarm at the Launching Pad on North Airport Drive. Police checked the building and found no signs of forced entry.
Later in the morning, crews assisted with a vehicle stuck in a driveway on East Green Bay Street, and another disabled vehicle at Main and Division was cleared within the hour.
At around 10 a.m., police and fire units responded to a call on North Lafayette Street, followed by a more serious call just after 12:30 on Richmond Court. A resident reported possible carbon monoxide exposure, with several people in the home experiencing dizziness, headaches, and stomach pain. Emergency crews responded and remained on scene for nearly an hour.
Officers also handled a trespassing complaint on West Division Street involving a man refusing to leave a residence, as well as a disturbance near Island Lake later in the afternoon.
The day wrapped up with a report of a lost wallet at Walmart on East Green Bay Street.
Clintonville Police were busy throughout the day on March 16th, responding to a wide range of calls across the city.
Early morning activity included parking enforcement near West 13th and North 12th Streets, along with a welfare check on Hughes Street. Emergency crews were also dispatched to Flora Circle for an ambulance call just before 6:40 a.m.
A significant concern developed just after 8 a.m., when a gas leak was reported on West Street. Authorities responded quickly to secure the area and address the hazard.
Officers handled a high number of disabled vehicle calls throughout the day, many along South Main Street and the Morning Glory Drive area, suggesting ongoing traffic or mechanical issues in those corridors.
Additional activity included extra patrols in several neighborhoods during the morning hours, a reported snowmobile incident near East First Street and Morning Glory Drive, and a drug-related call on South Main Street in the afternoon.
Police also assisted with a vehicle lockout, multiple welfare checks, and another ambulance call on Industrial Avenue later in the day.
The evening wrapped up with continued patrols and several parking enforcement actions across the city.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office handled a high volume of calls on March 16th, with winter driving conditions playing a major role in many incidents.
Deputies responded to numerous traffic accidents throughout the early morning hours, particularly along Highway 29, where multiple vehicles slid off the roadway or became stuck in ditches. In several cases, drivers reported losing control due to snow-covered roads, though most incidents did not involve serious injuries.
Disabled vehicles were also a major issue across the county, with reports of cars, trucks, and even semi-trailers blocking roadways or exit ramps. At one point, a semi was reported stuck and partially blocking Highway 55, while another incident had an exit ramp completely shut down due to a stranded truck.
Emergency calls included several 9-1-1 hang-ups and welfare checks, including one situation where residents were reportedly trapped in a trailer due to heavy snow and unable to get out.
Deputies also responded to a reported scam involving concerns of hacked devices, a harassment complaint in Wittenberg, and a mental health-related call where a woman made concerning statements to a crisis line.
Additional activity included alarms, traffic hazards, and general assists, including helping motorists out of ditches and assisting residents affected by the weather.
Authorities are reminding drivers to slow down, allow extra travel time, and be prepared for rapidly changing road conditions as winter weather continues to impact the area.
