Shawano Police responded to a number of incidents throughout the city on Thursday. Officers were first called to a fight in progress just before two a.m. at the Ole Town Tap on North Main Street. Multiple officers responded to the scene and the situation was brought under control.
Later in the morning, police assisted ambulance crews on several medical calls, including one at Aarrowcast on East Richmond Street and another at a residence on South Bartlett Street.
Around 6:40 a.m., officers investigated a suspicious situation at an apartment building on East Lieg Avenue after a report that a man had entered the locked building and was knocking on doors.
Emergency crews were also dispatched to a personal injury crash at South Airport Drive and County Road B shortly before eight a.m.
During the afternoon, officers handled a shoplifting complaint at Qualheim’s True Value on East Green Bay Street, helped with a vehicle lockout at McDonald’s, and investigated a report of possible elder abuse.
Police were also called to a disorderly conduct complaint at an apartment on East Lieg Avenue and later responded to a burglary alarm at Dunham’s Sports.
Late Thursday night, Shawano officers assisted with a pursuit involving a driver reported to be swerving along Highway 47-55 north of the city.
Police also responded to a disturbance at Tractor Supply shortly after eleven p.m., wrapping up a busy day of calls across Shawano.
Clintonville Police handled a wide range of calls yesterday. Officers were first called to an alarm on South Main Street just before two a-m. Later in the early morning hours, police conducted extra patrols around the Clintonville school district on West Green Tree Road.
A domestic disturbance was reported shortly before 5:30 a.m. on West 13th Street. Officers also performed several neighborhood patrols on Ninth, West, and Anne Streets early in the morning.
During the day, police responded to an ordinance violation on Ninth Street and a motor vehicle crash on Harriet Street shortly after 8:30 a.m. Officers later assisted a citizen on West 13th Street and handled a disorderly conduct complaint on 20th Street.
Emergency crews were also dispatched for an ambulance call on North 12th Street, while police investigated a fraud complaint on West Morning Glory Drive and conducted a welfare check on Seventh Street.
Traffic enforcement kept officers busy throughout the afternoon and evening, with multiple stops across the city including intersections along Main Street, Highway 45, and 12th Street.
Police also responded to a traffic hazard at Spring Street and Industrial Avenue and investigated a hit-and-run reported on West Madison Street shortly before 7:00 p.m.
The day wrapped up with officers assisting a citizen near Seventh and North Lyons Streets.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office responded to a variety of incidents. Early in the morning, deputies assisted other law enforcement agencies and checked on a disabled recreational vehicle along Highway 29 near mile marker 225. Deputies also conducted a welfare check in the Birnamwood area after a report of a person making suicidal threats. Authorities say the situation was addressed and the call was later closed.
Just before 4:00 a.m., deputies responded to a vehicle in the ditch near Lake Drive in the Town of Waukechon. Another crash with a vehicle in the ditch was reported late in the morning near Highway 156 and Nichols Road in the Bonduel area.
Deputies handled several community complaints during the day, including illegal burning incidents in Wittenberg and the Town of Wescott. One caller reported garbage and furniture being burned near an elementary school, while another complaint said smoke from burning materials was affecting a neighborhood.
Other calls included a report of a sick or neglected dog tied outside a home on East Grand Avenue in Wittenberg, a traffic hazard near Highway 29 and County Road K, and a trespassing complaint on Elm Road near Pulaski involving people reportedly inside a foreclosed property.
During the evening hours, deputies responded to reports of ATVs driving recklessly along Branch Lane near Clintonville and investigated a suspicious vehicle repeatedly driving past a home on North Lafayette Street in Shawano.
Late Thursday night, deputies stopped a vehicle after reports of a driver swerving along Highway 47 and 55 north of Shawano. The driver was investigated for operating while intoxicated.
The day ended with deputies responding to a commercial alarm at a NAPA store in Wittenberg and assisted firefighters at a call on West Mill Street in Bonduel.
