One Game Short Again: Rice Lake Stops Shawano’s State Bid

STEVENS POINT, WI- The Shawano Girls Basketball team fell to Rice Lake in the Sectional Finals for the second straight year.

Shawano chased the Warriors all game long, and fell 59-45 after trailing 36-26 at the half.

The Hawks were able to keep leading scorer Adaline Sheplee in check with 16 first half points, but gave up 15 first half points to Freshman Brielle Balts.

Those points proved to be a difference maker as Sheplee and Leah Nordin cancelled each other out in scoring. The Hawks got 14 points from Jadyn Brown, but struggled to get much more scoring.

Sheplee ended the night with 23 points, while Nordin had 22 for Shawano.

Both Sheplee and Nordin are on their way to Wisconsin to play for the Badgers next year.
