Shawano Police responded to a welfare check at ThedaCare Medical Center on County Highway B after reports an older man had fallen on the ice several days earlier. Officers checked on the situation and the call was later closed.
Around noon, police took a report of a property theft in the 100 block of South Sawyer Street. The incident remains under investigation.
During the afternoon, officers also responded to an abandoned 9-1-1 call from an apartment on East Richmond Street. Police checked the residence after the call disconnected.
Shortly after 4 p.m., officers assisted a driver locked out of a blue and white 2006 Chevy Blazer on South Franklin Street. No children or animals were inside the vehicle.
Police also received a report of reckless driving near Lieg Avenue and South Water Street. A caller reported an orange sporty-looking car with two young males doing donuts in a parking lot near the park before leaving the area heading west on County Highway M.
Other calls included a suspicious person complaint on East Division Street involving a man yelling for someone who did not live at the residence, and a noise complaint at an apartment on East Fifth Street where a resident reported a child upstairs repeatedly jumping.
Officers also investigated property damage on East Ridlington Avenue after a resident reported finding their mailbox destroyed.
In the evening, officers attempted to locate a Shawano man on a warrant for failure to submit a biological specimen. Police later assisted probation and parole officers with a pickup arrest on South Andrews Street.
At about 9:10 p.m., Shawano police and firefighters responded to the Shawano City-County Library for a fire alarm. Crews reported no flames or smoke in the building.
Later that night, officers followed up on an anonymous report of a possible drunk driver operating a black Ford F-150 in the area.
Early Friday morning, police also responded to a disturbance between apartments on South Smalley Street and later assisted with a call on Prospect Circle.
Clintonville Police responded to a variety of calls. officers conducted several routine business checks along South Main Street, Seventh Street, and Paulina Street to ensure properties were secure. At around 2:07 a.m., officers were called to Club House Drive after an open door was discovered. Police checked the property as part of the investigation.
Extra patrols were also carried out at several locations including the Pigeon Lake boat launch at Pickerel Point, Picnic Point, 15th Street, and West Green Tree Road.
Later in the morning, officers conducted traffic stops on South Main Street and at the intersection of North 12th and West 13th Streets. Additional patrols were also reported on 9th Street, West Street, and Anne Street.
Police responded to a noise complaint on Wilson Street shortly before 9:30 a.m., and later in the day assisted emergency medical crews with ambulance calls on Wilson Street and Spring Street.
In the evening hours, officers continued extra patrols on Anne Street and responded to another noise complaint on 6th Street shortly before 10 p.m.
Police also assisted with an ambulance call on 5th Street later in the evening. The day wrapped up with additional business checks on East Green Tree Road and County Highway I as officers continued routine patrols across the city.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office handled about 30 calls for service, deputies were called to County Highway E and Lodge Road in the Town of Cecil for a stray golden retriever seen running in the roadway, but the animal was not located.
During the early morning hours, deputies also assisted staff at Meadow View Care Center in Bonduel after a patient fell and needed help getting back up. The patient was not injured.
Later in the morning, deputies investigated a suspicious report near the Highway 22 and Highway 29 interchange after what appeared to be the butt of a shotgun was spotted along the on-ramp.
Other calls during the day included a harassment complaint in Bonduel, a 9-1-1 call traced to a young child playing with a phone near the Siga Funmaker area in Wittenberg, and courthouse security activity in Shawano.
Deputies also responded to several reports of reckless driving, including one involving a white cargo van on Highway 45 near Hill Road and another complaint about a sporty orange car doing donuts in a parking lot before leaving the area on County Highway M.
There were also a number of welfare checks across the county, including one involving concerns about living conditions at a property near Wittenberg and another involving a woman reportedly struggling to care for herself after suffering multiple strokes.
Other incidents included criminal damage to a mailbox on County Highway P, a suspicious person reported staying in a basement laundry room in the Town of Wescott area, and several animal-related calls involving deer struck by vehicles.
The day ended with a personal injury crash reported just before midnight near Highway 29 and Killdeer Road in the Wittenberg area. Authorities say the incident remains under investigation.
