Shawano Police were busy yesterday Officers responded around 8:30 a.m. to a reported break-in with squatters at an apartment complex on South Andrews Street. Management reported two individuals inside the building. The incident remains under investigation.
Just before noon, officers were called to Charlie’s County Market for a suspicious person reportedly hiding in shrubbery along the back wall. The caller described the man as acting out of place and possibly wearing recording equipment. Officers responded and the situation remains active.
Police also investigated a bail jumping complaint near South Hamlin and East Randall Streets Monday afternoon involving a man who reportedly has open court conditions including absolute sobriety.
Later in the evening, officers assisted after a vehicle struck Gresham Hardware on Commerce Way in Gresham and fled the scene. Authorities say the suspect vehicle was a Buick.
In addition, police handled a hit-and-run on East Fifth Street and a burglary alarm at Tractor Supply on East Green Bay Street.
Clintonville Police responded to a variety of calls with their day beginning with early morning business checks along South Main Street and 9th Street, along with a traffic stop at South Main and 5th Street just before 2:40 a.m.
Officers conducted extra patrols in several neighborhoods, including 9th Street, West Street, Anne Street, and near schools on South Clinton Avenue.
Police handled two separate 911 calls on 6th Street—one shortly after 6:30 a.m. and another just before 1 p.m. Details on those incidents were not immediately released.
Emergency crews responded to multiple medical calls during the day, including on Flora Circle, East Madison Street, Shaw Street, and 10th Street. Officers also assisted with a mutual aid call on Bennett Street late in the afternoon.
Additional calls included a utility issue at West Street and 8th Street, a disabled vehicle at East 12th and North Lyons, two welfare checks on North Clinton Avenue and Modoc Street, and several more routine business checks, including one just before midnight on 6th Street.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office responded Just before 2 a.m., to a stranded motorist on Highway 29 near mile marker 223 west of Tilleda after a pickup truck ran out of gas.
Around 8 a.m., a caller reported suspicious activity near County Road J and Highway 29 in the Town of Tigerton, where two black vehicles were reportedly seen switching license plates. That investigation remains active.
Deputies also handled a noise complaint on Swan Acre Drive in Cecil involving what was described as a loud alarm sounding from a log home, and a threatening complaint taken at the Sheriff’s Office lobby late in the morning.
Reckless driving was reported twice during the day, including an incident on Highway 29 near Exit 227, where an orange semi allegedly forced another driver off the road.
In the afternoon, courthouse security was addressed at the Shawano County Courthouse, where a warrant was later quashed by a judge.
Other calls included harassment on Pioneer Drive, multiple welfare checks including one near Highway 45 and Oriole Road, and an animal complaint in Tigerton where a deer struck by a vehicle had to be dispatched.
Deputies also assisted at a vehicle-versus-building crash in Gresham, responded to a hit-and-run on East Fifth Street in Shawano, and checked a burglary alarm at a business on East Green Bay Street.
Several additional 911 calls throughout the day were determined to be accidental.
