SHAWANO, WI- The Hawks won their second straight contest with a 63-58 win over West De Pere in a non-conference game.
The Hawks trailed by 9 at the half, but used a team effort to come back for the victory.
“This was a game that felt like a Regional Championship here, ” said Coach Ryan Koenig. “West De Pere is a great team, they play in a great conference and their record does not indicate how good they are.”
The Hawks had three players in double-digit scoring led by Leah Nordin with 27, Creden Weisnicht had 12 and Anna Dreier added 10. “We keep digging ourselves a hole every game, and we just have to make it easier on ourselves, but it was a gritty effort. We talked about playing as one unit,” Koenig said. “The second half we did that and all of the sudden momentum swung our way.”
