SHAWANO, WI – The newly formed Fellowship Church of Shawano has selected a permanent home following the merger of two longtime local congregations. Members of First Presbyterian Church and Peace United Church of Christ officially united on January 1, creating a single congregation focused on continuing ministry and outreach in the community. The Presbyterian Church building at 100 West Presbyterian Street will now serve as the church’s primary location.
Church offices are scheduled to move to the new site on February 1, with all worship services and ministries based there beginning March 1. During February, Sunday services will rotate between the two former church buildings as the transition takes place. Starting March 6, the congregation will settle into one weekly Sunday worship service at 9:30 a.m. at the Presbyterian location.
Church leaders say the consolidation helps the congregation remain active and sustainable while lowering operational costs. They add that many existing outreach efforts, including community meals, Scout groups, and a diaper bank, will continue as part of the church’s ongoing commitment to serving Shawano and the surrounding area.
