Lena kept rolling on Friday night, earning a 51-34 road win over Niagara to improve to 18-1 on the season.
The Wildcats set the tone early, jumping out to a 27-8 lead by halftime behind strong defense and control on the glass. Niagara played a better second half, but the early deficit was too much to overcome as Lena matched the Badgers 24-26 after the break to secure the win.
Ella Thomson led Lena with 14 points and a dominant all-around effort, adding 12 rebounds and 4 blocks. Alisa Finger also recorded a double-double with 12 rebounds to go with 4 assists, 3 blocks, and 2 steals. Kaitlyn Borkovec and Carla Caballero-Morante each added 8 points, with both knocking down two shots from beyond the arc.
As a team, Lena hit 7 three-pointers, dished out 16 assists, and won the rebounding battle, showcasing their depth and defensive presence. The win gives the Wildcats victories in five straight and a 2-0 edge over Niagara in the season series.
