Shawano Police were busy throughout Thursday, responding to a wide range of calls across the city.
Early in the morning, officers checked on a reported pedestrian near Engel Drive and Waukechon Street after a caller said the person appeared lost or intoxicated. Officers made contact and the situation was resolved without incident
Later in the morning, police responded to multiple 9-1-1 calls, including an open line traced to Shawano Middle School. Officers investigated and found no signs of an emergency
Around midday, police handled a non-reportable traffic crash on South Airport Drive after a semi backed into a passenger vehicle. No injuries were reported
Officers also responded to a disorderly conduct call at the Shawano Library, a welfare check on Waukechon Street, and a domestic disturbance on East Lieg Avenue Thursday evening
Additional calls included assisting residents, handling juvenile issues at local schools, and responding to stray animal reports.
Clintonville Police handled a steady flow of calls throughout Wednesday, January 29th, beginning with several early-morning business checks across North Main Street, Commercial Avenue, and South Main Street.
Just after 4:30 a.m., officers responded to an alarm on South Main Street. Extra patrols were also conducted later in the morning on Anne Street, South Madison Street, and Pine Street to address neighborhood concerns.
Police assisted a citizen near Motor Street and 18th Street shortly before 8 a.m., and an ambulance was requested to a residence on Wilson Street late in the morning.
During the afternoon and evening hours, officers investigated harassment complaints on West Green Tree Road and West 14th Street, along with multiple traffic stops, including one near North Main Street and West Green Tree Road and another at Highway 45 and County Highway O.
Later in the night, police responded to a 9-1-1 misdial on West Street and an ambulance call on West Campus Drive.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office responded to a high volume of calls throughout Wednesday, January 29th, with several incidents tied to traffic safety, courthouse activity, and emergency assistance across the county.
Deputies handled multiple reckless driving complaints along Highway 29 during the early morning hours, including reports near Pulaski and east of Cecil. Several traffic hazards were also reported throughout the day, ranging from debris in roadways to disabled vehicles and vehicles losing cargo, prompting warnings to drivers and traffic control in affected areas.
Around mid-morning, deputies were called to the Shawano County Courthouse for security issues and a disorderly conduct incident at the county jail. Authorities also served two arrest warrants at the courthouse during the afternoon.
Deputies conducted several welfare checks during the day, including one involving a person reported to be slurring speech and having difficulty walking, and another following a concerning report left at a local gas station.
Animal-related calls were also common, with deputies responding to injured deer along roadways and reports of animals left unattended in vehicles. One deer was later dispatched for public safety.
Emergency response continued into the evening, with deputies assisting fire departments in Cecil, White Clay Lake, and Birnamwood, as well as responding to a patient transfer from the county jail for chest pain.
Late Wednesday night, a squad vehicle was involved in a collision with a deer. No injuries were reported, and the vehicle remained drivable.
