Shawano Police were kept busy throughout the day Sunday, responding to a wide range of calls across the city. One of the more concerning incidents came just after midnight, when officers were dispatched to a welfare check in Gresham after a caller reported seeing troubling information on the news involving a possible shooting and kidnapping. Multiple units responded, and the situation was later cleared with no ongoing threat reported
Later in the morning, officers handled disorderly conduct at an apartment on South Main Street, where a reported altercation was resolved without further incident. Police also assisted drivers throughout the day, including a vehicle lockout downtown and a disabled semi temporarily blocking traffic near Main and Green Bay Streets
Emergency responders were also called to several medical situations, including assisting ambulance crews for a child experiencing a seizure. Other calls included shoplifting at a local grocery store, abandoned 911 calls, and assistance to fire crews at multiple locations.
Clintonville Police stayed active throughout the day Sunday, responding to a variety of calls across the city. Officers conducted multiple overnight business checks along South Main Street and Paulina Street, helping ensure businesses were secure during the early morning hours.
Police also investigated reports of a suspicious vehicle on South Main Street and a suspicious situation on North 12th Street, both of which were checked and cleared. Extra patrols were conducted in the early morning on Anne Street and South Madison Street as a precautionary measure.
Emergency responders were called to Anne Street for an ambulance run later in the morning, followed by a welfare check on South Main Street. Just before noon, police assisted the fire department on Brix Street. Officers also responded to a mental health-related call on North 12th Street.
Later in the day, police assisted with a vehicle lockout on Hughes Street and wrapped up the evening with a traffic stop near West Green Tree Road and North Main Street.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office responded to a busy Sunday, handling dozens of calls ranging from traffic incidents to welfare checks across the county. Deputies were first called out just after midnight to investigate a suspicious situation in Wittenberg, which was checked and cleared.
Throughout the early morning hours, deputies responded to reports of reckless driving, parking complaints, and a disabled vehicle near Pulaski. Later in the morning, a traffic crash with property damage was reported on Oriole Road in the Town of Wittenberg, followed by multiple welfare checks in the Wittenberg area and along Weber’s Point Road. Authorities say those situations were addressed with no ongoing danger reported.
Late morning also brought an alarm call at a business in the Village of Wittenberg, while additional crashes were reported during the early afternoon, including one involving injuries near County Highway Triple-M and Peach Road. Deputies also handled a trespassing complaint in the Town of Belle Plaine and assisted with standby requests.
As the evening continued, officers responded to disorderly conduct at the North Star Casino Bingo Resort, additional traffic crashes along Highway 29, and several traffic violations. Animal-related calls rounded out the night, including deer struck by vehicles in multiple locations.
