APPLETON , WI- A man has been sentenced to nine years in prison for his role in a fatal drug overdose in Black Creek. Thirty-year-old Cole Simon was sentenced Thursday in Outagamie County after pleading no contest to first-degree reckless homicide in the July 19th, 2024 overdose death of 27-year-old Brandon Anker. Investigators say Simon supplied the drugs used in the overdose and was also sentenced to ten years of extended supervision. Before sentencing, Simon apologized in court, speaking about his struggle with addiction and his regret over not getting help sooner. Another man involved in the case, Travis Neshek, was previously sentenced to one year in jail and five years of probation for delivering fentanyl.
