Shawano police handled a wide range of calls from arrests, school incidents, and a reported scam involving gift cards.
Just after midnight, officers responded to a bail jumping complaint on East Center Street after a caller reported a woman believed to be intoxicated and possibly violating bond conditions. That case remains active.
Later in the morning, police investigated a reported scam at Community Alternatives on South Main Street. Authorities say an employee was tricked by an email posing as a supervisor and purchased eight 200-dollar gift cards, sending the card numbers to the scammer. Police remind the public that legitimate employers will never request gift cards by email.
Officers were also called to a Kwik Trip on East Green Bay Street for a trespassing complaint, and to several incidents at Shawano Community High School involving juvenile and tobacco-related issues.
Additional calls included a hit-and-run vehicle damage report near Aldi’s, welfare checks, vehicle lockouts, and multiple 911 hang-up calls that were checked and cleared.
Clintonville police stayed busy throughout the day Wednesday with a range of routine calls and safety checks across the city.
Early in the morning, officers conducted extra patrols on Anne Street and South Madison Street, followed by additional school patrols near West Green Tree Road as students arrived for the day.
Later in the morning and early afternoon, police assisted ambulance crews responding to medical calls on Elm Street and Wilson Street. No further information was released on those incidents.
In the evening hours, officers responded to a 9-1-1 misdial on West Green Tree Road, confirming there was no emergency. Police were also dispatched to an alarm call on South Main Street, where the situation was checked and cleared.
The night wrapped up with a routine business check along Commercial Avenue.

The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office handled more than 40 calls for service Wednesday across the county, ranging from traffic incidents to welfare checks and public safety calls.
Early in the morning, deputies responded to a report of a pedestrian walking along Highway 22 near Maple Leaf Road in cold conditions, prompting a welfare concern. Several assist calls followed in Birnamwood and Wittenberg, along with multiple traffic incidents, including vehicles in ditches and non-reportable crashes in rural areas of the county.
Deputies were also dispatched to several animal-related calls, including injured deer, stray dogs, and reports of neglected livestock, as well as multiple welfare checks involving residents across Shawano, Tigerton, and Wittenberg.
Public safety calls throughout the day included alarm activations, traffic hazards, and utility issues, including a downed line reported across a roadway in the Town of Wescott. Officers also assisted fire departments with responses to a chimney fire and other emergency calls.
More serious incidents included a reported theft of narcotics from a care facility in Birnamwood, a warrant arrest in Shawano, and a weapon-related incident where a firearm accidentally discharged, injuring a man’s hand. Authorities confirmed that incident is under investigation.
In the evening hours, deputies responded to additional crashes, welfare checks, and assist calls before closing out the day with routine public safety operations.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office reminds residents to use caution during winter travel, report hazards promptly, and call authorities if they see suspicious or dangerous activity.
