Shawano Police responded to a wide range of calls Yesterday. Just after one o’clock Sunday morning, police were called to a noise complaint on South Water Street. A short time later, officers responded to an abandoned 9-1-1 call at an apartment complex on Engel Drive, making contact and confirming there was no immediate emergency.
Early Sunday morning, officers were called to Walmart on East Green Bay Street for an intoxicated individual, followed later by a reported shoplifting incident at the same location. Police say charges are being considered in that case.
Several welfare and safety-related calls were also handled throughout the day, including reports of reckless driving near Airport Drive and Gumaer Road, a suspicious vehicle at a Lakeland Road business, and an animal-related call involving a dog in traffic near Lincoln and Division Streets.
During the afternoon and evening, officers responded to reports of harassment, assault after the fact, trespassing complaints, and multiple 9-1-1 hang-up calls where no emergency was located.
Police also assisted with a patient transfer at a local care facility and provided standby assistance during a property retrieval.
Clintonville Police were first called out just after midnight Sunday to a 9-1-1 call on Spring Street. A short time later, officers assisted another agency on Bennett Street. During the early morning hours, multiple business checks were conducted along South Main Street and West Madison Street as part of routine patrol activity.
Extra patrols were also logged on Seventh Street, Anne Street, 20th Street, and South Madison Street as officers worked to maintain a visible presence in residential neighborhoods.
Later in the morning, officers responded to another 9-1-1 call on North 12th Street and took a fraud report on East 14th Street. A 9-1-1 misdial was reported late morning on Brix Street, with no emergency found.
During the afternoon, police investigated a harassment complaint on South Main Street and assisted a resident with a lockout on Harriet Street. The day wrapped up with a traffic stop at South Main and West First Street Sunday evening.
Shawano County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a wide range of incidents across the county. Just after midnight, deputies were called to ThedaCare Medical Center in Shawano where a man was reported yelling in the lobby and refusing to leave. He was escorted out without further incident. A short time later, a noise complaint was reported involving a bar that was playing music too loudly.
Several 9-1-1 calls came in throughout the early morning hours, many of them generated by cellphone data alerts with limited information. Deputies were able to verify locations and clear the calls without reported emergencies.
Around 2-30 Sunday morning, a Bonduel resident reported finding an Apple AirTag tracking device inside their vehicle, prompting an active investigation into the suspicious activity. Minutes later, deputies arrested a driver for operating while intoxicated near East Green Bay Street and North Airport Drive in Shawano.
Deputies also responded to a property-damage traffic crash on Spruce Road where airbags deployed but no injuries were reported. Multiple welfare checks were conducted during the day, including reports of individuals passed out in vehicles and a medical alert activation involving an elderly resident living alone.
Later in the day, deputies investigated reckless driving complaints along Highway 29 and responded to a reported domestic disturbance in the town of Richmond Sunday evening. The day wrapped up with an animal-related call after a deer was struck near Tigerton.
