Shawano police handled a wide range of calls throughout Wednesday keeping officers busy from early morning into the overnight hours. Just after 1:30 a.m., police responded to a 9-1-1 call near Waukechon Street and East Green Bay Street involving a woman who reported feeling unwell after a traffic stop. Multiple officers responded and the incident was cleared without further issue
Officers also assisted ambulance crews several times during the day and worked with Shawano Community High School on school liaison matters, a welfare check, and a truancy report. Late in the morning, police assisted Probation and Parole with a custody pickup of a Shawano man at an East Green Bay Street office
During the afternoon and evening, officers responded to a non-injury two-vehicle crash at East Maurer and South Cleveland Streets, a vehicle lockout at Walmart, and a hit-and-run reported at the Kwik Trip on East Green Bay Street. That incident involved a red Chrysler 300 that left the scene after striking another vehicle. The day concluded with reports of property damage, medical assists, and a noise complaint early Thursday morning. Police say all incidents remain under investigation or were resolved at the scene
Clintonville Police reported Officers conducted multiple overnight business checks along Industrial Court, Industrial Avenue, Commercial Avenue, and South Main Street. All locations were found secure.
Police also provided mutual aid on East Prospect Avenue early Wednesday morning and increased patrols in several neighborhoods, including Anne Street, 20th Street, and the Pigeon Lake and Picnic Point areas. Extra patrols were also conducted near schools along 20th Street during the morning hours.
Several traffic stops were made throughout the day at locations including North 12th and Torrey Streets, North Main and 20th, McKinley Avenue, and near North Main and 18th Street. No major incidents were reported.
Officers responded to a suspicious activity call on West Green Tree Road late in the morning, as well as a business assist and a 9-1-1 call on Spring Street Wednesday evening.
Additional calls included a citizen assist on South Main Street and a late-night noise complaint on Stewart Street. All incidents were handled without reported injuries.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were dispatched just after midnight to a commercial alarm at Felts Construction along County Trunk MMM. A short time later, an open door was discovered at a nearby construction site. Both incidents were checked and cleared without reports of theft.
Several traffic-related incidents kept deputies busy throughout the day, including multiple non-reportable crashes, disabled vehicles on Highway 29, Highway 45, and rural county roads, and reports of reckless driving. No serious injuries were reported.
Deputies also responded to multiple welfare checks county-wide, including calls in Shawano, Bonduel, and Wittenberg. All were handled without incident.
Fraud and identity theft were reported at the sheriff’s office lobby, including a case involving a reported loss of twenty-five hundred dollars from a local checking account. Investigations are ongoing.
Drug-related activity was reported in several locations, including Cecil and Aniwa, with cases later closed or forwarded for further review.
Animal complaints were also common, with deputies responding to injured deer in Cecil and Bowler. One deer was safely dispatched late Wednesday night.
The Stockbridge-Munsee Police Department reported four incidents, including a death investigation in Bowler. Authorities say the death appears non-suspicious, and no foul play is indicated at this time. Officers also responded to drug-related calls and a traffic crash on County Trunk A.
In total, law enforcement agencies handled more than 38 calls for service during the 24-hour reporting period.
