Police in Shawano stayed busy Monday and into the early morning hours of Tuesday with a wide range of calls across the city.
Officers made an early-morning warrant arrest near Highway 47 and Frailing Road, taking a suspect into custody without incident. Several welfare checks were also handled throughout the day, including one at the Shawano Library and another involving a young child who was found crying after waking up while no one was home. Police ensured the child’s safety and contacted the parent.
Officers responded to multiple disturbance and disorderly conduct calls, including an apartment disturbance on East Richmond Street and a late-night complaint on West Picnic Street. A hit-and-run crash was reported at East Richmond and South Lincoln Streets, with officers continuing their investigation.
Other calls included a drug complaint at Shawano Middle School, a pedestrian creating a traffic hazard on Lakeland Road, noise complaints, suspicious activity reports, and assistance to fire crews at a local business.
Clintonville Police were active throughout the day Monday, December 22nd, responding to a variety of public safety calls across the city.
Officers conducted multiple extra patrols and business checks during the early morning hours along Green Tree Road, Industrial Avenue, Main Street, Anne Street, and 20th Street, as well as added patrols near a local school to ensure safety.
Police responded to welfare checks on West Madison Street and West Street, along with a 9-1-1 call reported on Sergeant Warren Hansen Drive. Officers also handled a truancy complaint on 20th Street and provided mutual aid to another agency near Highway 45 and Silver Creek Road.
Later in the day, police assisted with an ambulance call, handled a vehicle lockout on South Main Street, and served legal paperwork on North Main Street.
The day ended with officers responding to a motor vehicle crash at 8th and West Streets, with no serious injuries reported.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office stayed busy Monday, responding to a wide range of calls across the county, many tied to winter driving conditions and public safety concerns.
Deputies handled multiple traffic accidents, including property-damage crashes along Highway 47-55, Highway 29 near Pulaski, Highway 156, and Highway 22. One late-morning crash near Shawano involved a plow truck and a van, causing lane blockages, though no serious injuries were reported. Several vehicles were found in ditches as slick road conditions continued throughout the day.
Authorities also responded to several reckless driving complaints, including reports along Highway 29 and in the Shawano Shores area, with investigations still active in some cases.
Deputies conducted numerous welfare checks, assisted residents with general service calls, and responded to reports of open doors, suspicious activity, and harassment. Animal-related calls included concerns over injured wildlife and neglected livestock, which remain under review.
Late Monday night, deputies took a person into custody on an outstanding warrant during a traffic stop in the Shawano area.
In addition, the Stockbridge-Munsee Police Department assisted with incidents in Gresham, including a school alarm and an active threatening complaint still under investigation.
