Nicole M. Kussman, age 41 of the Township of Dupont, passed away on Friday December 19, 2025 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center, Neenah following complications from a sudden aneurysm.
Nicole was born on February 3, 1984 in Kewaunee, Wisconsin to Susan Kostka and the late Michael Kostka. Nicole loved to camp and travel with her family. She also loved to dance, both tap and ballet, play softball and was a cheerleader. She played the flute and piccolo in the high school band. Yet she also loved to bird and deer hunt with her father. She graduated from Kewaunee High School in 2002, going on to earn a bachelor’s degree in education with a bilingual endorsement. She taught at Green Bay, Clintonville, and Marion School Districts. Her biggest goal was helping students to recognize their strengths and strengthen their weaknesses.
Nicole met her husband Brad at the mall. They were married in 2006 and began sharing love, laughter, and crazy endeavors. They created two children, Ashlynn and Rhett. She was a strong influence in their lives, teaching them morals and a strong work ethic. She provided a close knit family resulting in a strong can-do perspective. Because of her efforts, she leaves behind a family that can make it through anything.
After meeting Brad, she grew into an avid outdoors woman who formulated a love for the mountains and Great Lakes. She was featured in Outdoor Life magazine with a trophy Lake Erie Walleye, and has taken two massive elk and many trophy Whitetail. Often hunting with her daughter they shared many stories and goofy moments in the stands.
She will be irreplaceable as a wife, mother, daughter, and sister.
Nicole’s family sends many thanks to the Marion EMS Crew, Shawano Hospital Emergency Center, ThedaStar Air Ambulance Crew, the Neurosurgeons, and the outstanding job done by the ThedaCare Regional Medical Center ICU nurses and staff.

She is further survived by a large, loving extended family.
She was preceded in death by her father, Michael Kostka; and her grandparents, Joseph, Mary Ellen, & Robert.
Memorial services will be held 12 PM on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at Christus Lutheran Church, Clintonville with the Rev. Brian Crocker officiating. Inurnment will take place at Roseland Cemetery, Town of Dupont, in the springtime.
Visitation will be held on Saturday at the church from 8:30 AM until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to be directed to the Kussman family for a memorial to be established in Nicole’s name.
