SHAWANO, WI – With the holiday season in full swing, one of Shawano’s most beloved traditions is once again bringing officers and families together. The annual Shop With A Cop event is underway, and Shawano Police Officer Brandi Hoffman says it continues to be one of the most meaningful community efforts of the year.
“This is probably one of our most attended and favorite events for the officers, not only from our agency, but the sheriff’s department, the jailers, and the dispatchers also come out,” Hoffman said.
The program officially kicked off last week and is funded entirely through generous donations from community members. Those contributions allow local children to shop for Christmas gifts alongside law enforcement officers, creating positive connections and easing financial stress for participating families.
Hoffman says the Shawano Police Department also works closely with the Shawano School District, which helps identify families who could benefit from additional support this holiday season.
