SHAWANO, WI – Santa is trading in his sleigh for a sleek Vision Jet this weekend as he prepares for a high-flying holiday arrival at the Shawano Municipal Airport. Airport Commission Secretary Doug Engel says families can expect an unforgettable entrance, with Santa touching down alongside his pilot and a small crew of helpers.
Engel says the fun begins the moment Santa arrives, noting that the first 200 children to greet him will receive a special gift straight from the big man himself. The event will take place inside the airport’s newest hangar, offering plenty of space and heaters, to keep families warm while they wait in line.
The Flight Before Christmas will also feature photos with Santa, festive refreshments, and hands-on aviation displays, giving children and adults a chance to explore the airport and learn more about flight.
Engel says the event is designed to bring holiday excitement to the community while showcasing the airport’s latest expansion.
