Seymour 82, Xavier 69
Seymour stayed unbeaten and made a statement on the road Tuesday night, knocking off No. 10 Xavier 82–69 behind an explosive shooting performance and a dominant second half.
The Thunder came out hot with 37 first-half points and never cooled down, pouring in 16 three-pointers on 53% shooting from deep. Senior guard Xavier Salzman was unstoppable, scoring 23 points on 8-of-10 shooting, including five threes, while grabbing 7 rebounds and adding a steal.
Isaac Feske and Kyler Marks each added 17 points, giving Seymour a balanced and relentless offensive attack. Marks also controlled the interior with 10 rebounds, and Feske added 3 assists.
Xavier battled behind big performances from Logan Ramczyk (23 points, 5 assists) and Kyler Bleck (21 points, 5 threes), but the Hawks couldn’t keep pace with Seymour’s perimeter firepower or the Thunder’s +8 rebounding advantage.
Both teams tallied strong assist totals and efficient shooting, but Seymour’s combination of outside shooting, offensive boards, and depth proved too much.
The Thunder improve to 2–0, while Xavier drops to 2–2.
Coleman 58, Saint Thomas Aquinas 38
Coleman snapped its early-season skid in a big way Tuesday night, using a fast start and balanced scoring to earn a 58–38 home win over Saint Thomas Aquinas.
The Cougars came out firing, building a 29–14 halftime lead and keeping the Cavaliers at arm’s length the rest of the way. Kolton Peters led Coleman with 16 points, while seniors Brady Dufeck and Logan Theilman each added 12, giving Coleman three players in double figures and steady scoring from the perimeter.
For Saint Thomas Aquinas, junior guard Jake Farley carried the load, pouring in 20 points and adding 9 rebounds and 6 steals in an impressive all-around effort. Freshman Lucas Farley and senior Caleb Duvall chipped in 9 points apiece, but the Cavaliers couldn’t overcome Coleman’s early burst or their own struggles taking care of the ball.
Aquinas forced turnovers (12 steals), but Coleman’s shooting and execution proved too much as the Cougars picked up their first win of the season, improving to 1–4, while the Cavaliers fall to 2–2.
New London 90, Winneconne 86
New London outlasted Winneconne in a high-scoring thriller Tuesday night, pulling away late to secure a 90–86 victory and even its record at 2–2.
Winneconne, coming off back-to-back 90-point performances, stayed hot offensively behind senior star Parker Ingles, who exploded for 34 points, 8 rebounds and 5 made threes. Gage Bartel added 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 steals, while freshman Drew Lenz delivered another impressive outing with 15 points and 6 assists.
Despite Winneconne’s huge rebounding edge (64 total boards, including 20 on the offensive glass), New London had the answers when it mattered. The Bulldogs matched pace in the shootout, capitalizing on turnovers and timely scoring bursts to fend off multiple Wolves rallies.
The Wolves led stretches of the second half, but New London closed the game with a decisive run to hand Winneconne its second loss of the year.
Winneconne drops to 2–2, while New London picks up a quality early-season win and moves to 2–2.
Oconto Falls 72, Marinette 64
Oconto Falls stayed unbeaten with an impressive road win Tuesday night, using a sharp-shooting first half and balanced production to knock off Marinette 72–64.
The Panthers built a 41–28 halftime lead behind efficient scoring from their senior duo. Brady Bursa and JJ Pytleski each poured in 18 points, combining for 14 made field goals and providing both inside finishing and perimeter shooting. Pytleski added 4 made threes, 5 rebounds, and 4 blocks, while Bursa contributed 5 assists and strong downhill play.
Senior guard Jameson Beaman added 14 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 steals, giving Oconto Falls a reliable third scorer and defensive spark as Marinette tried to rally late.
Marinette battled back in the second half, cutting the deficit behind improved ball movement and pace, but Oconto Falls’ efficiency, particularly 10 made three-pointers, proved to be the difference. The Panthers also turned the ball over just 3 times, a huge factor in controlling the game.
Oconto Falls improves to 3–0, while Marinette drops to 2–2.
