Shawano Police handled a series of calls yesterday, starting just after midnight with an alarm at a business on East Green Bay Street. Officers checked the building, and nothing suspicious was found.
Around 7 a.m., officers responded to County Road B for a report of an injured cat. The animal had been struck by a vehicle, and a passerby stayed with it until help arrived.
Later in the morning, police were called to a local hotel for damage to a room door. Staff requested a report after discovering vandalism.
Lockouts kept officers busy through the late morning and early afternoon, with several drivers finding themselves unable to get into their vehicles at businesses along East Green Bay Street.
A welfare check was requested by the Shawano Post Office after mail piled up at a residence for nearly two weeks. Officers made contact with the resident, who reported being ill but otherwise safe.
In the afternoon, police assisted probation agents in taking an individual into custody without incident. Later, a disturbance was reported at a community facility involving a person being removed from a team. Officers resolved the issue.
The evening wrapped up with a suspicious activity call at the high school construction area, where steam and lights were seen coming from a tent. Nothing criminal was found.
Clintonville Police responded to a steady mix of calls. Officers began the early morning with several routine business checks along South Main Street and Industrial Avenue, ensuring properties were secure before sunrise. Around mid-morning, police conducted extra patrols on Anne Street and 20th Street, followed by a report of illegal dumping on South Main.
A little before 11 a.m., a 911 call came in from Spring Street. Authorities responded and confirmed the situation was handled safely.
Traffic issues picked up later in the day. Officers made multiple traffic stops—first on North Main, then later along Highway 45 near County Highway O, and again by South Main and Reinke Road. Just after 4 p.m., police also responded to a motor-vehicle crash at Sunset Drive and Fairway Drive. No major injuries were immediately reported.
Emergency crews were called to a fire on 8th Street around 4:50 p.m., with local firefighters and police assisting at the scene.
During the evening, officers handled a vehicle lockout on South Main, responded to a stray-animal call on Harriet Street, and assisted another agency near East Main and Palmer Road. Later that night, they conducted a welfare check on Brix Street and wrapped up the day with citizen-assist calls on 8th Street and West Madison Street.
Shawano County deputies responded to a wide range of calls across the region. The day began with a series of traffic-related incidents. Just before 7 a.m., deputies were called to two separate property-damage crashes, including one at County Roads G and Campfire Road and another on Riverside Drive. A short time later, a driver struck a deer along Highway 32, requiring a tow.
Crews also assisted firefighters in Bonduel after a fire alarm sounded at the high school. A second alarm was reported later in the morning at the same location, which was ultimately traced to a popcorn machine.
Deputies responded to multiple disabled vehicles throughout the day, including several along Highway 29, where traffic was slowed by breakdowns near Bowler and the old 29 corridor.
A notable traffic hazard was reported on Highway 45 when a milk tanker became detached from a truck, partially blocking the roadway until a tow service could remove it.
Around midday, authorities investigated a report of a boat-related incident near Highways 22 and 117 in Cecil. That call remained under further investigation.
Deputies also conducted several welfare checks, including one at a Shawano convenience store where a person was reported stumbling before getting into a vehicle, and another later in the evening at a residence after a medical alert was triggered with no contact.
Two arrest warrants were served during the day—one following a traffic stop and another at a residence where deputies located an individual who was moving belongings.
In the evening, an animal complaint came from the Krakow area where a deer with severe injuries had to be dispatched. Deputies also assisted a man by providing transport to a local shelter.
The day concluded with additional minor crashes, disabled vehicles, and a late-night welfare check after a concerning message was reported to authorities.
