Shawano Police handled a wide mix of incidents throughout Wednesday.
The day began around 2:30 a.m. at Sturgeon Park, where officers checked on a vehicle for a park-use violation. Minutes later, police were called to a home on South Lincoln Street for a disturbance after recently-evicted individuals reportedly returned and began pounding on the door. Officers cleared the situation and made an arrest.
Just after 3:20 a.m., a security alarm sounded at a dental office on North Main Street. The building was checked and found secure.
Later in the morning, officers responded to Walmart twice—first for a disorderly customer accused of shouting and damaging packaged meat, and then for a welfare check on a young woman who appeared under the influence and had been inside the store for several hours.
Several vehicle lockouts were handled, including one involving a running car with a dog inside. Police also assisted with multiple truancy reports, a civil dispute involving a missing pet, and an animal-neglect complaint involving two dogs without proper food or shelter.
During the afternoon and evening, officers dealt with a minor crash, theft of a package on Sunset Avenue, and a reckless-driving complaint on Elizabeth Street. They also responded to a traffic hazard caused by a truck stuck in a ditch, property damage after a pickup struck and uprooted a tree, and another minor crash at a fast-food restaurant.
The night ended with several welfare checks, including calls involving mental-health concerns and an ongoing family disturbance at an apartment complex.
Clintonville Police kept a close watch on local businesses early Thursday morning, conducting a series of routine security checks across the city.
The activity began just after 3:20 a.m. on South Main Street, where officers made three separate business checks within roughly ten minutes. No problems were reported at any of the locations, and all buildings were found secure.
A few minutes later, around 3:33 a.m., officers shifted attention to County Highway I, where they performed two additional checks. Again, police found no signs of forced entry, suspicious activity, or safety concerns.
These early-morning patrols are part of the department’s ongoing effort to deter overnight thefts, monitor property, and maintain a visible presence while most businesses are closed.
Shawano County deputies handled a steady flow of calls throughout Wednesday, beginning just after midnight with a bail-jumping arrest at a tavern in the Village of Wittenberg. Deputies were told a man prohibited from entering bars was inside the establishment, leading to his arrest.
Around 1:30 a.m., dispatch received a 911 open line from a home in Pella, though no emergency was found. A few hours later at the county jail, staff reported a damaged fixture but no deputy response was needed.
Morning calls included two animal complaints—one for a stray dog running in traffic and another for an injured deer that had to be put down. Deputies also picked up a person wanted on a warrant in Shawano and coordinated plans for an upcoming holiday parade.
Throughout the late morning, officers assisted with a minor crash, a property-theft report involving stolen laundry at a laundromat, and a welfare check in Wittenberg. Around 11:45, responders were sent to Blueberry Road for a vehicle rollover with unknown injuries. Stockbridge-Munsee Police also assisted at that scene.
The afternoon brought a commercial alarm activation at a church facility in Shawano, along with multiple non-reportable traffic accidents, a disabled vehicle causing obstruction, and another welfare check for an elderly neighbor who had not been seen as usual.
Later in the day, deputies handled additional animal-injury calls, an information report involving a homeless subject, and a reckless-driving complaint involving a car operating without headlights.
Wednesday evening remained active with more welfare checks, including a fall-alert activation with no contact, and a suspicious-vehicle complaint in Wittenberg. Deputies also responded to a disturbance in Bonduel after callers reported a person in their front yard who refused to leave.
The day ended just before midnight with another suspicious-vehicle report near a rural church property.
