SHAWANO, WI – As the holiday season approaches, Toys for Tots is urging Northeast Wisconsin residents to step up and support local children, including teens, who rely on the program for gifts. Coordinator Michael Johnston says last year’s numbers highlight both the significant need and the community’s generosity. “We supported over 4,000 children and we gave away over 20,000 toys,” Johnson said.
Families can register for assistance online through December 9, and the same website provides information for anyone wishing to donate, volunteer, or get involved. Johnson is also emphasizing the importance of remembering teenagers, who are often overlooked during holiday drives. Items such as wireless earbuds and portable speakers are especially appreciated for older kids.
He adds that every donation stays within the community, helping families across Northeast Wisconsin experience a brighter and more joyful holiday season.
