WEYAUWEGA, WI- Students at St. Peter Lutheran School in Weyauwega turned small change into a big difference for law enforcement. The school hosted Waupaca County Sheriff’s Deputy Muske and his K9 partner, Rondo, to learn how police dogs help keep communities safe. After discovering that the K9 program is funded entirely by donations, students launched a “penny war” fundraiser between classrooms. Over the course of a month, the competition raised more than $2,000 for the sheriff’s department’s K9 unit, with the 7th and 8th graders taking the victory.
