
Rosetta Mae Stern age 97 passed away November 10, 2025. She was born on May 5, 1928 in the town of Hartland Shawano County to the late Ester (Boettcher) and Joseph Kurowski. She was a Shawano county clerk for over 20 years, retiring in 1990.
Rosetta was quite a woman! She was a member of the Gillett Lone Oak Gun club and on occasion was able to shoot a perfect score. She loved hunting deer locally and in Canada, she had the opportunity to hunt pheasants in South Dakota, ducks in Canada and enjoyed fishing all year in Shawano Lake. Rosetta and Joseph enjoyed their Cottage in Ontario Canada and were fortunate to travel to Alaska to visit the areas Joseph served building the Alaskan Highway, Germany to enjoy the Beer Fest and over 30 states.
She was a member of the Republican party of Shawano County and received many awards from the district. Her passion was to volunteer her time with her many friends with shared interests. Rosetta enjoyed mayflower picking, and her time as a talented self-taught seamstress.
Rosetta strongly believes in the Power of Prayer and miracles. She beat cancer not only once but twice with the most recent being 2005.
She is survived by her six dear nieces and nephews; Cheryl (Joseph) Peterson, Audrey (Bob) Greenwood, Gene Bohm, Linda Owen, Charles (Sherry) Bohm, Pamela (Steve) Kulas. Rosetta is further survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
A funeral service for Rosetta will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday November 20, 2025, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel with Pastor Fehrmann officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 am until the time of service. Burial will be at Underhill Cemetery following services.
In lieu of flowers memorials would be appreciated for St. Paul Lutheran School or Wolf River Lutheran High School.
