SHAWANO, WI – Shawano Pathways is celebrating 15 years of promoting outdoor recreation and trail connectivity throughout Shawano County, and the public is invited to join in the milestone celebration tonight.
Member Matty Mathison says the event is open to everyone in the community. “We would like anyone in the community to come and join, see what we’ve done, hear about what we’ve done, and also some of the future plans,” Mathison said.
The celebration takes place at Twig’s Museum and Gift Shop in Shawano, beginning at 5 p.m. Guests can enjoy gourmet sandwiches and ice cream sundaes, with no admission fee required. Donations are encouraged to help support future trail projects and community programs.
Mathison reflected on the group’s accomplishments over the past decade and a half, noting that 26 city parks are now connected by park-to-park loops, along with three established bike routes in the Town of Wescott. She says the organization continues to focus on expanding access and encouraging residents to enjoy Shawano County’s natural beauty year-round.
