HORTONVILLE, WI – The Polar Bears advanced to the Sectional Final on Saturday after defeating the D.C. Everest Evergreens 2-1.
Hortonville got the scoring started early with a penalty kick and a yellow card on the D.C. Everest goalkeeper in the 6th minute. The ensuing kick was made by Cade Mansfield.
The Polar Bears would again strike after halftime, this time with the head of Anthony Zanon in the 61st minute. Mansfield would get the assist on the Zanon header.
The Evergreens would get on the board in the 68th minute but it was not enough as the 2 goal lead would be enough to send Hortonville onto Saturday.
Hortonville improves to 20-0-3 overall.
