
Daniel Henry Krueger, age 92, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday October 29, 2025, in Shawano. Daniel was born on June 3, 1933, in the Town of Richmond to the late Paul and Erna (Zander) Krueger. Dan was a lifetime member of St. Jakobi Lutheran Church where he was baptized on June 18, 1933, and confirmed his faith on March 30, 1947. On May 28, 1955, Dan was united in marriage to his teenage sweetheart, Shirley Martzke, at the church. Dan was a dedicated farmer for most of his life. He also worked at Badger Northland selling and installing farm equipment and at Shawano Implement and then K & K Equipment as a talented mechanic. Dan was a self-taught engineer who built two tractors which he used for custom round hay baling. He also designed and built various other machines for area farmers. He loved music and he sang bass in barbershop quartets from the age of 13. He also sang in the Shawano Tones barbershop chorus and in the church choir. He loved nothing more than singing with his wife and two daughters in their family quartet. In his free time Dan enjoyed traveling throughout North America making many wonderful memories along the way. He had a strong faith and was an active member of St. Jakobi Lutheran Church; serving as an elder, trustee, and member of various committees. Dan especially enjoyed giving his time and labor to help build the current sanctuary. Dan was a gentle and loving husband, father, grandpa, great-grandpa, brother and friend and will be deeply missed.
Dan is survived by his wife of 70 years, Shirley; his daughters, Jody Siahaan and Wendy (Scott) Longlet; grandchildren, Logan Siahaan, Evan (Daisy) Siahaan, Jacob (Jenna) Longlet, Nathan (Emily) Longlet and Ben (Kate) Longlet; great-grandchildren, Catalina, Raylan, Clara, Teddy, Oliver, Isabel and Elliot; and a sister, Alice Peters. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Dan joins a great-granddaughter, Esther; siblings, Rudy Krueger and Eilene Buettner; and parents, Paul and Erna Krueger as they rest in the loving arms of Jesus in heaven.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday November 3, 2025, at St. Jakobi Lutheran Church with Rev. Travis Kleinschmidt officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 9:30 am until the time of the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery following the service.
