NEW LONDON, WI – The City of New London is moving ahead with plans to purchase a small piece of land next to the police station to address a deteriorating retaining wall. The proposal includes buying 675 square feet of property just south of the building, allowing crews to pour a new concrete wall and provide police officers with more room to turn into the station’s garage.
City Administrator Chad Hoerth says the existing block wall is crumbling and needs to be replaced to prevent further structural damage. The estimated $5,400 purchase will be funded through the city’s Economic Development budget.
The New London Common Council was scheduled to review and discuss the proposal at its October 21 meeting.
