The Crivitz Wolverines surged past Reedsville in their WIAA Level 1 playoff matchup, earning a 42-27 victory Friday night to advance in the postseason. Senior Brody MacNeil delivered a dominant performance, rushing for 172 yards and six touchdowns on 29 carries to lead the Wolverines’ offense. Crivitz and Reedsville traded scores through the first half, entering halftime tied at 14 before the Wolverines exploded for 21 points in the third quarter to take control. Quarterback Colten Tarmann added 68 yards through the air, while senior Tyler Wene led the receiving corps with a 39-yard grab.
For Reedsville, Ben Prochnow threw for 182 yards and a touchdown, while Howie Zeman rushed for 80 yards and two scores, but the Panthers couldn’t keep pace with Crivitz’s relentless ground game. With the win, Crivitz improves to 8-3 on the year and moves on to Level 2 of the WIAA Division 6 playoffs.
#3 Coleman 44. #6 Randolph 6
The Coleman Cougars dominated from start to finish in their Level 1 playoff victory, rolling past Randolph 44-6 Friday night to advance to the next round of the WIAA Division 6 playoffs. Junior Kolton Peters led the way for Coleman with a standout all-around performance, rushing for 93 yards and two touchdowns while also catching two passes for 73 yards and another score. Quarterback Cole Berth contributed both through the air and on the ground, throwing a touchdown and adding two rushing scores of his own.
The Cougars’ defense was equally sharp, holding Randolph to just 112 total rushing yards and a single late touchdown in the fourth quarter. With the win, Coleman improves to 9-2 on the season and moves on to Level 2 postseason play.

Division 5 Matchups:
#2 Amherst 42, #7 Lancaster 14
The Amherst Falcons opened their postseason run in dominant fashion Friday night, defeating Lancaster 42-14 in a WIAA Level 1 playoff matchup. Junior running back Ayden Nerdahl powered the Falcons’ offense, rushing for 257 yards and five touchdowns on 21 carries while also leading the team with 10 tackles on defense. Amherst set the tone early, building a 22-7 lead by halftime and never looking back, as the Falcons’ ground attack proved too much for the Flying Arrows to handle. Senior quarterback Michael Glodowski added balance through the air, completing 7 of 13 passes for 119 yards and a touchdown to Sully Perkins, who finished with 69 receiving yards.
With the win, Amherst improves to 9-1 and advances to Level 2 of the Division 6 playoffs.
#5 Wittenberg-Birnamwood 42, #4 Brookfield Academy 14
The Wittenberg-Birnamwood Chargers stormed into the WIAA Level 1 playoffs with a commanding 42-12 victory over Brookfield Academy Friday night. The Chargers’ offense came alive early, scoring 27 points in the first half and holding the Blue Knights scoreless until the final quarter. Senior Kaden Yaeger led the ground attack with 116 rushing yards and three touchdowns on just six carries, while junior quarterback Bo Davis added 114 rushing yards and a score of his own. Sophomore Danny Olivarez also contributed with a rushing touchdown and 41 yards on the ground.
On defense, the Chargers forced two interceptions and a pair of fumbles, with Carson Meverden leading the way with six tackles, two tackles for loss, and a sack. Brookfield Academy’s Beau Libbey ran for 181 yards and two touchdowns, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Wittenberg-Birnamwood’s early surge. The Chargers improve to 5-5 on the year and advance to Level 2 of the Division 5 playoffs.
Division 4 Matchups:
#8 Milwaukee North/Lifelong Learning @ #1 Winneconne
The Winneconne Wolves continued their undefeated season in dominant fashion Friday night, defeating Milwaukee North/Lifelong Learning 71–0 in a Level 1 WIAA playoff matchup. With the win, the Wolves advance to 10–0 on the year, while the Blue Devils finish their season at 3–6.
Winneconne wasted no time asserting control, putting up 42 points in the first quarter and never looking back. The Wolves’ offense was firing on all cylinders, as senior quarterback Brody Schaffer went a perfect 5-for-5 passing for 142 yards and two touchdowns, posting a stellar 257.7 QB rating.
Running back Bryce Jones added 38 yards and two touchdowns on just three carries, while receiver Karter Hawthorne highlighted the aerial attack with a 75-yard touchdown catch.
Defensively, Finn Sullivan led Winneconne with five tackles and a tackle for loss, as the Wolves held Milwaukee North without a single first down or offensive yard. Winneconne’s special teams also contributed, scoring twice on fumble recoveries and adding a 74-yard kickoff return touchdown.
By halftime, the Wolves led 50–0 and coasted the rest of the way, adding 21 more points in the second half to seal the 71–0 shutout.
#2 Freedom 28, #7 Kettle Moraine Lutheran 0
The Freedom Irish continued their dominant season Friday night with a 28–0 shutout win over Kettle Moraine Lutheran in the first round of the WIAA Division 4 playoffs. With the victory, Freedom improved to 9–1, while the Chargers’ season ended at 4–6.
Freedom set the tone early, scoring on their opening drive to take a 7–0 first-quarter lead, and never looked back. After a quiet second quarter, the Irish exploded for 14 points in the third and added another touchdown in the fourth to seal the shutout win.
Sophomore quarterback Owen Henkel was outstanding, completing 23 of 27 passes for 241 yards and four touchdowns, good for a 201.7 quarterback rating. Senior receiver Nolan Phillips was his top target, hauling in four passes for 90 yards and two scores, while senior running back Nixon Heinke added 55 rushing yards and anchored the defense with 15 tackles, three tackles for loss, and a sack.
Despite being held scoreless, Kettle Moraine Lutheran showed grit throughout. Senior Josh Duba led the way on both sides of the ball, rushing for 75 yards on 20 carries and recording 14 tackles and a tackle for loss on defense. Junior quarterback Jackson Mutz completed five passes for 23 yards, while Sam Carstensen led the receiving corps with a 12-yard grab.
Freedom’s defense was airtight, limiting the Chargers to just 23 passing yards and 108 total rushing yards, while forcing two interceptions and keeping KML out of the red zone.
The Irish now advance to Level 2 of the WIAA playoffs, where they’ll look to continue their hot streak after outscoring opponents 158–27 over their last five games.
#2 Little Chute 40, #7 Ripon 2
The Little Chute Mustangs left no doubt in their Level 1 playoff opener, defeating Ripon 40–2 on Friday night. The Mustangs stormed out to a 40–0 halftime lead and cruised through the second half to advance to Level 2 of the WIAA playoffs with a 9–1 record. Ripon’s season concludes at 6–4.
Little Chute’s offense struck early and often, putting up 12 points in the first quarter before exploding for 28 more in the second. Junior quarterback Jaden Hermsen showcased his versatility, completing 2 of 3 passes for 47 yards and a touchdown while also rushing for 65 yards and another score.
Reece Joten powered the ground attack with 75 yards and a touchdown on just eight carries, and Trevor Verhagen contributed both ways, scoring once on a 31-yard touchdown reception and again on a 9-yard rush.
Defensively, Little Chute was relentless, holding Ripon without a single first down until late in the game. Senior Kaden Hoffman led the charge with six tackles, three tackles for loss, a sack, and a fumble recovery, while the Mustang defense forced three interceptions, recovered two fumbles, and returned one for a touchdown.

In one of the most exciting finishes of the opening round, the Pulaski Red Raiders rallied late to edge the Milton Red Hawks 23–20 in a WIAA Level 1 playoff showdown Friday night. With the win, Pulaski improved to 7–3 on the year, while Milton’s season also ended at 7–3.
The game was a tale of two halves. Milton came out strong, scoring twice in the opening quarter to take a 14–7 lead, and added another touchdown just before halftime to go up 20–14. But Pulaski’s defense locked down in the second half, holding the Red Hawks scoreless while the offense chipped away at the deficit.
Junior quarterback Bohdan Schmidt put together a monster performance, carrying the Raiders to victory. He accounted for 271 total yards, rushing 34 times for 209 yards and two touchdowns while completing 4 of 5 passes for 62 yards and another score. His 38-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter gave Pulaski its first lead since the opening minutes.
Senior receiver Gavin Sikorski provided the key spark in the passing game, catching three passes for 52 yards, including a 46-yard touchdown early in the second quarter. On defense, Garrett Lom led the charge with eight tackles, while the Pulaski secondary tallied seven pass breakups and an interception that sealed the win in the closing minutes.
Division 1 Matchups:
#7 De Pere 28, #2 Neenah 27 (OT)
In one of the most dramatic finishes of the WIAA Level 1 playoffs, the De Pere Redbirds pulled off a thrilling 28–27 overtime victory over Neenah on Friday night. The win sends De Pere (6–4) into the next round, while the Rockets’ impressive season ends at 7–3.
The Redbirds struck first with a field goal in the opening quarter, but Neenah answered with a pair of touchdowns in the second to lead 13–10 at halftime. After trading scores and a tense fourth quarter, the teams entered overtime deadlocked at 20–20.
In the extra frame, De Pere senior quarterback Holden Woodfill delivered under pressure, tossing his third touchdown of the night to give the Redbirds the lead. A successful two-point conversion made it 28–20, which proved crucial after Neenah’s Ashton VanBeek ran in his fourth rushing touchdown of the game. The Rockets opted for the win with a two-point try, but De Pere’s defense stood tall, stopping the conversion to seal the victory.
Woodfill was sensational through the air, completing 26 of 45 passes for 393 yards and three touchdowns. His favorite target, Sam Robb, had a career night with 10 catches for 158 yards and a score, stretching the field all evening against a strong Neenah secondary.
On defense, junior Cayden Cavanaugh led the Redbirds with 15 tackles and a fumble recovery, while De Pere’s special teams came up clutch, kicker Andrew Kuehl hit two field goals, including a 42-yarder.
For Neenah, VanBeek was electric despite the loss, rushing 32 times for 242 yards and all four of the Rockets’ touchdowns, showcasing grit and explosiveness in one of the state’s top individual performances of the round.
