Girls Volleyball Regional SemiFinals; Oconto Falls Advances

The second round of Girls Volleyball took place Thursday. Winners are playing in Saturday’s Regional Finals.

DIVISION 1

#8 Appleton East 3, #9 Kaukauna 1
(25-16, 25-21, 23-25, 25-19)
The Patriots ended the Galloping Ghosts season last night in 4 sets as they will move on to face Kimberly on Saturday.
Adina DePagter had 11 kills for Appleton East.

#5 Hortonville 3, #12 Green Bay Southwest 0
(25-13, 25-12, 25-10)
The Polar Bears ended the Fighting Trojans season last night in sweep fashion as Hortonville advanced to Saturday’s regional final. Cami Head had 4 kills for Hortonville.

#4 De Pere 3, #13 Appleton West 0
(25-10, 25-15, 25-13)
The Redbirds flew into Saturday’s regional final with a 3-0 sweep over the Terrors.

#3 West De Pere 3, #14 Green Bay East 0
(25-10, 25-7, 25-6)
The Phantoms made quick work of the Red Devils in 3 sets on Thursday evening.

#6 Pulaski 3, #11 Ashwaubenon 0
The Red Raiders ended the Jaguars season in 3 sets last night as Pulaski advances to Saturday’s regional final.

The Hornets survived the multiple Lightning strikes and the upset from the Lightning to survive and advance into Saturday.

DIVISION 2

#1 Mosinee 3, #8 Merrill 0
(25-11, 25-12, 25-14)
The Indians cruised to a 3-set sweep over the Bluejays.
Bridget Frye and Pacyn Stoffel both had 12 kills for Mosinee.

#2 Waupaca 3, #7 Medford 1
(25-18, 25-27, 25-21, 25-8)
The Comets advanced to Saturday’s regional final after dispatching the Raiders in 4 sets.

The Foxes cruised past the Purple Raiders in 3 sets into Saturday’s regional final.

#4 Freedom 3, #5 Denmark 1

The Irish survived the upset bid from the Vikings in 4 sets.

#3 Oconto Falls 3, #6 Notre Dame 0
(25-13, 25-20, 25-19)
The Panthers continued their dominant season eliminating the Tritons in straights ets.

#2 Luxemburg-Casco 3, #7 Seymour 0
(25-14, 25-13, 25-19)
The Spartans ended the Thunder’s season in sweep fashion last night to set up a colossal match with Oconto Falls on Saturday.

#1 Xavier 3, #8 West Bend East 0

There was no sun shining as the Hawks eliminated the Suns from postseason play in sweep fashion to continue their season.

The Wolves survived the upset scare from the Panthers in 5 sets to move onto Saturday’s regional final. Alyssa Koval had 16 kills for the Wolves.

#1 Saint Mary Catholic 3, #8 Ripon 0

The Zephyrs moved on in dominant fashion eliminating the Tigers in 3 sets. Kyah Peterson for Ripon had 10 kills.

#4 Amherst 3, #5 Wittenberg-Birnamwood 2
(17-25, 26-24, 25-15, 22-25, 15-12)
The Falcons survived the upset from the Chargers on home court as this one need 5 sets between the 2 Central Wisconsin-East Rivals. It was a back and forth affair the entire night but it was the Falcons flying into Saturday with momentum.

The Bulldogs swept the Warhawks to end their season last night at home.

#7 Bonduel 3, #2 Oconto 0

The upset of the night was Bonduel taking down the #2 ranked Blue Devils in Oconto in straight sets.

#4 Kiel 3, #5 Wrightstown 0
(25-19. 25-17, 25-16)
The Raiders eliminated the Tigers from postseason play last night in sweep fashion. Madyson Gutschow had 12 kills for Kiel.

DIVISION 4

#1 Three Lakes 3, #8 Wild Rose 0
(25-18, 25-23, 25-21)
The Bluejays put a end to the Wildcats season as Wild Rose fought in each set but it was the #1 seed prevailing.

#5 Shiocton 3, #4 Iola-Scandinavia 0
(25-23, 25-17, 25-21)
The Chiefs avenged a regular season loss to the Thunderbirds by eliminating I-S and ending their season in sweep fashion last night in Iola. Natalie Young for Shiocton had 16 kills.

#3 Crivitz 3, #6 Manawa 0
(25-17, 25-18, 25-23)
The Wolves took the long trip up to Crivitz looking for an upset. Manawa would get swept in 3 sets but not without a fight in each set against the Wolverines.

DIVISION 5

#1 Suring 3, #9 Wausaukee 0

The Eagles ended the Rangers season last night as they swept their conference foe at home to advance to Saturday’s regional final match.

#4 Elcho 3, #5 Lena 1
(25-18, 25-21, 20-25, 25-21)
The Hornets fought off a scrappy Wildcats team as Elcho won in 4 sets.

#3 Niagara 3, #6 Gillett 2
(18-25, 22-25, 25-20, 25-20, 15-9)
It was the Badgers coming out on top in reverse sweep style over the visiting Tigers. Gillett was up 2-0 before Niagara stormed back taking the next 3.

#4 Cambria-Friesland 3, #5 Tigerton 1
(25-20, 20-25, 25-16, 25-15)
The Tigers season came to a end last night as they fell to the Hilltoppers in 4 sets. Presley Stewart-Rolfs for Tigerton had 10 kills.

#3 Almond-Bancroft 3, #6 Marion 0

The Mustangs season came to a close last night at the hands of the Eagles in straight sets. Marion fought in each set but the home momentum for A-B was too much for Marion.

The Blazers put a end to the Wildcats season in Green Bay last night as the Blazers jumped out quickly in the 1st set and never looked back. Sydney Steffel had 9 kills for NEW.
