SHAWANO, WI- The Shawano County Executive Committee has named Human Resources Director Julie Hasser as interim Administrative Coordinator, following the recent departure of Jim Davel. Davel, who held the position since 2022, left earlier this month to become the new Administrator for the Village of Kronenwetter.
Chairman Tom Kautza said Hasser will serve in the interim role for the next three months while county leaders evaluate how to move forward with the position long-term. “We thought she would be a good individual to handle it in the temporary and she will pass out a lot of the duties that have to be done daily onto others.” The committee agreed to a temporary pay rate of five thousand dollars per month through January. “We will re-evaluate in January,” he added.
Kautza noted that Hasser’s experience in county operations and personnel management made her a logical choice to ensure a smooth transition. “That is a big chunk of Admin is HR, the other big chunk is finance.” The interim appointment allows the county to continue daily operations without interruption while officials weigh options for filling the position permanently.
The Administrative Coordinator oversees county departments, policy implementation, and intergovernmental coordination, working closely with the County Board and department heads. Kautza said the committee will discuss the next steps for recruitment or restructuring at upcoming meetings.
