Shawano Police handled a series of welfare checks and disturbance calls throughout the day Tuesday.
Around 3:20 a.m., officers responded to East Richmond Street, where a caller reported a man screaming in pain. Officers and emergency medical crews arrived within minutes and assisted the man, who was said to be in his late fifties. The situation was resolved without further incident.
Later that morning, police received a noise complaint from a resident near Olga Brener School who said construction crews have been dumping trash as early as 5:30 a.m., possibly violating the city’s noise ordinance.
Officers were also called to South Lincoln Street just before 7 a.m. for a reported disturbance, and later to South Sawyer Street for a trespassing complaint. Both incidents remain under investigation.
Around 3:55 p.m., police were called to an apartment complex on Madison Way after a plumber found a naked man lying on the floor of a utility room. Officers cleared the scene after confirming no immediate danger.
And shortly after 8:30 p.m., police conducted another welfare check on East Division Street after an anonymous caller reported drug activity. Officers spoke with those involved and determined no further action was needed at that time.
Clintonville Police handled a mix of patrols, traffic calls, and public safety checks on Tuesday.
Officers were out early with extra patrols on 7th Street, 20th Street, and near W. Green Tree Road for school safety. Around 10:55 a.m., they responded to a traffic hazard on South Main Street, followed by a hit-and-run reported on 9th Street later that morning.
Midday, a traffic stop was made at Lincoln Avenue and East 12th Street, and officers conducted community engagement along South Clinton Avenue.
In the afternoon, police handled a welfare check on Flora Way, two worthless check complaints on 10th Street, and a traffic stop near Waupaca and Hemlock Streets.
During the evening, officers investigated an alarm call on South Main Street, checked on a suspicious vehicle near Highway 22 and Commercial Avenue, and responded to a report of illegal dumping at Commercial and Winter Streets just before midnight.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office handled a range of incidents Tuesday across the county — from traffic hazards to welfare checks and suspicious activity.
Deputies started the morning around 6:30 a.m. with a suspicious situation reported near Wolf River Court, where a resident heard what sounded like a smoke alarm across the river but couldn’t locate any fire.
A short time later, officers were called to South Lincoln Street in Shawano for a disturbance, and then to Highway 29 near Bonduel, where a driver was reported traveling at speeds near 100 miles per hour.
Deputies also responded to an animal problem near Old Lake Road, where a deer was hit by a vehicle. Midday calls included traffic hazards in Wittenberg and Tigerton, a property damage crash at Arby’s in Shawano, and a report of two neglected horses on Cypress Road.
Around 2 p.m., deputies conducted a welfare check in Bonduel after a medical alert signal was triggered but found no emergency. Later, a warrant arrest was made at the Shawano County Courthouse.
In the evening, authorities handled several 911 hang-ups and suspicious activity reports in Tigerton, Gresham, and Wittenberg. One call involved a camera mounted along a roadside in Gresham that concerned nearby residents.
At about 8:30 p.m., deputies took a report of a stolen vehicle from a home on Broadway Road in Shawano. And just before midnight, officers investigated a noise complaint on High Street in Birnamwood.
The Sheriff’s Office also assisted the Stockbridge-Munsee Police Department in Bowler with calls involving an animal complaint and a threatening incident on Camp 14 Road.
