Shawano Police handled a busy Thursday, just before 1 a.m., officers responded to a noise complaint on West Eagle Street, where loud sounds were reported coming from either a parked truck or a nearby home. Around 2:45 a.m., police checked on a woman found passed out in her car outside Kwik Trip on East Green Bay Street. She later regained consciousness and was evaluated at the scene.
A short time later, officers were called to South Washington Street after a caller reported several vehicles driving erratically and yelling in the area. Police investigated but found no immediate threat.
During the morning rush, a disturbance was reported at Tractor Supply, involving a man arguing over a handicapped parking spot. Later, a second disorderly conduct call came from McDonald’s on East Green Bay Street.
Officers also handled a property damage complaint at Walmart and two arrests at the Probation and Parole office — one involving a man wanted on a probation hold and another later in the afternoon.
A two-car crash near East Green Bay Street and North Airport Drive brought police, fire, and EMS to the scene around 5:15 p.m. No serious injuries were reported.
That evening, a caller on South Hamlin Street reported a man crawling near a driveway, and officers were sent to check his welfare.
And overnight, police responded to multiple false alarms at Prime Powersports on East Green Bay Street, all later determined to be malfunctioning sensors.
Clintonville Police handled a full slate of calls Yesterday, Officers responded just after midnight to a traffic stop at West Green Tree Road and Harriet Street, followed minutes later by a motor vehicle crash on South Main Street. Another crash was reported just after one o’clock in the afternoon, also on South Main. No injuries were noted in either case.
Police assisted a citizen on South Clinton Avenue overnight and provided mutual aid on Highway 45 around 3:30 a.m. Officers also handled several welfare checks throughout the day — on 7th Street, East 12th Street, and later that afternoon on South Main.
A disorderly conduct call came in from Stewart Street during the morning, and a tobacco problem was reported on West Green Tree Road around lunchtime.
The department also carried out multiple school patrols, community engagement, and parking enforcement during the day, along with evening traffic stops on North 12th Street.
Clintonville Police wrapped up their Thursday shift with an extra patrol on Memorial Circle just before 10 p.m.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office handled a variety of calls. Deputies responded just after one o’clock Thursday morning to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked without lights in front of Brothers Pub on Lake Drive in Shawano. The vehicle, a gray Silverado, was unoccupied when officers arrived.
Around 7:20 a.m., a driver struck a deer on Highway 45 near County Road ZZ in Birnamwood. Reports indicated the driver was briefly unresponsive but later regained consciousness. No serious injuries were reported.
Several other deer-related crashes and animal dispatch calls followed throughout the day, including incidents near Cecil, Shawano, and Tigerton.
Deputies also took several people into custody on warrants out of Outagamie, Green Lake, Langlade, and Shawano Counties. One pickup and arrest was made at the Shawano County Jail Thursday afternoon.
Reckless driving was another concern, with multiple reports coming in from across the county Thursday evening — including near Hillcrest Drive in Cecil, along Highway 47, and on Highway 22 in the Shawano area.
And in Tigerton, deputies investigated a late-night noise complaint just after 11 p.m., where a resident reported loud music coming from a nearby shed.
Meanwhile, Stockbridge-Munsee Police handled several 911 calls Thursday afternoon, including one at a home on Putnam Lane in Bowler.
Authorities remind drivers to stay alert for deer on the move and to report any suspicious or unsafe activity immediately.
