Denmark 3, Wrightstown 2
(25-17, 22-25, 13-25, 25-20, 15-6)
The Vikings picked up a home conference win on Thursday but not without some fight from the visiting Wrightstown Tigers. It was a back and forth affair all 5 sets. Denmark was down 2-1 entering the 4th set but used a massive comeback to take the next 2 sets and the match.
With the win, Denmark improves to 18-7 overall and 3-4 in the North Eastern. Wrightstown drops to 17-16 overall and 3-3 in the conference.
Waupaca 3, Freedom 1
(25-23, 25-19, 18-25, 25-21)
The Comets picked up a road win on Thursday defeating the Irish in 4 sets after losing the 3rd set, trying for the sweep. Peyton Carlson had 36 kills for Waupaca. Brooke Sowinski had 14 kills of her own for Freedom. Saylor Meulemans had 15 for the Irish but it was not enough against the Waupaca defense.
With the win, Waupaca improves to 21-10 overall and 4-2 in the conference. Freedom drops to 16-10 overall and 4-2 in the North Eastern.
Oconto Falls 3, Little Chute 0
(25-19, 25-20, 25-14)
The Panthers picked up a road win over the Mustangs on Thursday. The Mustangs fought in sets 1 & 2 but the Panthers offense has been hard all season to stop. Lucy Ripley had 14 kills for Oconto Falls. Audrey Butkovich had 6 kills for Little Chute.
With the win, Oconto Falls improves to 27-5 overall and 5-1 in the North Eastern. Little Chute drops to 12-10 overall and 2-4 in the conference.
Luxemburg-Casco 3, Marinette 0
(25-9, 25-8, 25-10)
The Spartans cruised to a home victory over the Marines, holding their offense below 15 points each set and single digits in 2 out of the 3 sets. Claire Schleis had 9 kills for the Spartans.
With the win, Luxemburg-Casco improves to 27-9 overall and 6-0 in the conference. Marinette drops to 3-21 overall and 0-7 in conference.
Bay Conference
Shawano 3, Green Bay West 0
(25-16, 25-8, 25-10)
The Hawks flew high to a home victory over the visiting Wildcats on Thursday. The Hawks held GB West to just 8 points in the 2nd set. Violet Blue Bird led the Wildcats in kills with 5.
With the win, Shawano improves to 13-17 overall and 2-3 in the Bay. Green Bay West drops to 1-11 overall and 1-4 in the Bay.
Winneconne 3, Green Bay East 0
(25-12, 25-11, 25-10)
The Wolves swept the Red Devils at home on Thursday evening. The Wolves defense stifled the Red Devils, holding them below 15 points in each set.
With the win, Winneconne improves to 18-7 overall and 4-1 in the Bay. Green Bay East drops to 0-17 overall and 0-6 in the Bay.
Fox Valley Lutheran 3, #18 Xavier 1
(16-25, 25-18, 25-21, 25-11)
The Foxes pulled the road upset over the #18 ranked Xavier Hawks in Appleton on Thursday. Alaina Patchett and Ellie Hayes for FVL both had 13 kills. Braelee Kiepert had 9 kills for the Hawks.
With the win, FVL improves to 23-8 overall and 6-0 in the Bay. Xavier drops to 22-8 overall and 3-2 in the Bay.
Fox Valley Association
Hortonville 3, Appleton West 0
(25-20, 25-21, 25-12)
The Polar Bears swept the Terrors at home on Thursday night. It was a tough 3-set battle for both teams but Hortonville came out on top in the end behind 8 kills from Becca Krause and Aubrie Ackermann.
With the win, Hortonville improves to 15-12 overall and 4-2 in the FVA. Appleton West drops to 0-23 overall and 0-6 in the FVA.
Fox River Classic Conference
De Pere 3, Sheboygan North 0
(25-16, 25-14, 25-17)
The Redbirds flew to a sweep of the Golden Raiders at home on Thursday. Each set was very close between the two teams but it was the .261 hit percentage from De Pere that made the difference in the match. Adeline Dwyer had 14 kills for De Pere and Erin O’Connor had 13 kills for the Redbirds.
With the win, De Pere improves to 17-14 overall and 5-0 in the FRCC. Sheboygan North drops to 5-16 overall and 1-4 in the FRCC.
Pulaski 3, Notre Dame Academy 2
(22-25, 25-19, 20-25, 25-22, 15-12)
A back and forth affair in Green Bay on Thursday night went to the visiting Red Raiders in a 5 set thriller. Addison Krueger had 11 kills for Pulaski while Sami Weise had 12 of her own. Hadley Stenavich had 20 kills for Notre Dame but it was not enough.
With the 5-set win, Pulaski improved to 15-14 overall and 2-3 in the FRCC. Notre Dame dropped to 10-23 overall and 1-4 in the FRCC.
Central Wisconsin-North
Northland Lutheran 3, Bowler 1
(25-20, 23-25, 25-20, 25-21)
It was tight 4-set battle between the Wildcats and Panthers but the Wildcats came out on top on the road in the most crucial points of the match to take it in 4 sets. Kaylee Rohland for Northland Lutheran had 9 kills, along with Amabel Loos also having 9. Libby Carrington led the Panthers with 6 kills on the night.
With the loss, Bowler drops to 3-13 overall and 1-6 in the North. Northland Lutheran improves to 7-6 overall and 5-2 in the North.
Gresham 3, White Lake 1
(21-25, 25-13, 25-11, 25-15)
The Wildcats and the Lakers did battle in Gresham on Thursday and it was the home team coming out on top. Gresham lost the 1st match in a close one but cruised the rest of the way defeating the Lakers. Allie Cerveny had 7 kills for Gresham.
With the win, Gresham improves to 9-7 overall and 6-2 in the North. White Lake drops to 1-10 overall and 0-6 in the North.
Marinette & Oconto
Suring 3, Coleman 0
(25-17, 25-19, 25-14)
The Eagles soared to a road sweep over the Cougars on Thursday night. It was close in each set between Suring and Coleman. The Suring defense stood out, holding Coleman to a .024 hit percentage during the match.
With the win, Suring improved to 12-7 overall and 5-0 in the conference. Coleman dropped to 8-12 overall and 7-4 in the M&O.
Crivitz 3, Lena 0
(25-8, 25-12, 25-19)
The Wolverines cruised to a sweep over the Wildcats at home but not without a fight from Lena. The Wolverines defense held Lena to just 8 points in the 1st set but Lena started to crawl back but it was too late.
With the win, Crivitz improved to 15-6 overall and 10-1 in the M&O. Lena dropped to 1-6 overall and 1-4 in the conference.
Non-Conference
Amherst 3, Pacelli 2
(24-26, 17-25, 25-23, 25-22, 15-13)
The Falcons and the Cardinals were in a battle of the birds on Thursday in Stevens Point. The Falcons pulled the reverse sweep after being down 2-0 to get the road victory. Jaedyn Zdroik had 18 kills for the Cardinals.
With the win, Amherst improved to 15-7 overall. Pacelli drops to 10-15 overall.
Weyauwega-Fremont 3, New London 1
(25-17, 25-19, 23-25, 25-18)
The Warhawks flew to a 4-set victory in non-conference action on Thursday night against the Bulldogs. W-F took the 1st 2 sets, lost the 3rd then came back to win the 4th set to clinch the match.
With the win, Weyauwega-Fremont improved to 7-11 overall. New London dropped to 2-14 overall.
Wild Rose 3, Tigerton 1
(19-25, 25-15, 25-17, 25-22)
The Wildcats got the road victory in Tigerton in non-conference play on Thursday. Wild Rose dropped the 1st set then won the next 3 to take the match. Presley Stewart-Rolfs led Tigerton with 11 kills.
With the win, Wild Rose improved to 6-6 overall and Tigerton dropped to 9-6 overall.
