Shawano Police responded to a variety of calls on Monday. Just after midnight, officers were called to a welfare check at an apartment building on Estates Lane. A limping dog was found in the hallway, leading to a check on a nearby unit. The situation was resolved without incident.
Later in the morning, police investigated a domestic disturbance on West Richmond Street. A caller reported his wife became physical during an argument. Officers responded quickly and made an arrest in connection with the case.
Animal complaints also kept officers busy. Reports included a black cat repeatedly attacking another pet on South Park Street, and a dog left inside a vehicle outside a local restaurant. Police intervened to ensure the animals’ safety.
In the afternoon, officers handled two separate restraining order violation reports. One was filed through Safe Haven, while another came from a resident on East Lieg Avenue who said she was being contacted on social media against court orders.
Other calls included thefts, a bail-jumping complaint, and a disturbance outside Walmart. Police also received a scam report from McDonald’s, where prank calls tied up the business line.
And overnight, officers checked on suspicious vehicles and noises reported near Picnic and Lafayette Streets.
Clintonville Police were busy throughout the day Monday, September 29th, with a mix of routine patrols and service calls.
Officers conducted several overnight traffic stops, including on West Madison Street and South Main Street, and performed business checks downtown. Morning patrols included extra school safety checks on 20th Street and West Green Tree Road.
During the afternoon, multiple traffic stops were made at South Main and County Highway I, as well as North Main and 17th Street. Around 3:49 p.m., an ambulance was called to West Street, and minutes later officers assisted another agency on South Main.
Police also responded to an animal complaint on Hemlock Street, a citizen assist, and a report of suspicious activity downtown. Additional stops were made in the evening on Highway 45, North Main, and North Lyons Street.
Later in the night, officers provided extra patrol around Memorial Circle and handled a disorderly conduct complaint on East Second Street.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office handled a wide range of calls on Monday, September 29th.
Deputies responded early in the morning to multiple 911 hang-ups, including one in Shawano and another in Cecil. Later, an animal complaint near Cecil reported a sick animal along Highway 22 and 117.
Around 8:30 a.m., deputies conducted a welfare check after a dialysis patient in Shawano failed to show up for treatment. That same morning, reckless driving was reported on Highway 29 near Hofa Park Drive.
By mid-morning, an unusual call came from Shiocton where a resident reported eight horses and a donkey wandering down Cole Road—eventually ending up under her kitchen window.
The afternoon brought more serious incidents. A propane leak was reported on Retreat Road in Shawano, though no one became ill. Not long after, deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash with injuries on Highway 29 near Hickory Road.
Elsewhere, a dog bite sent a man to ThedaCare Medical Center, and another subject turned himself in at the county jail on an outstanding warrant. Deputies also assisted with courthouse security, taking a man into custody there.
Later in the evening, multiple disabled vehicles were reported along Highway 29, and a 911 call in Brown County included background noise of possible yelling, though details were unclear.
And in a lighter moment, Stockbridge-Munsee Police investigated a traffic hazard after someone reported a large stuffed animal—possibly a teddy bear—sitting in the middle of County Highway A.
