Shawano Police responded to a busy day of calls on Sunday. Around 2:30 in the morning, officers were called to Hensel’s Shawano Inn for a report of a woman acting erratically. The incident was logged as a bail-jumping case, and police searched the area for a woman in a red dress.
Not long after, officers responded to a burglar alarm at Prime Power Sports on East Green Bay Street. The alarm came from a warehouse entrance, but no emergency was found.
Later in the morning, police were called to South Sawyer Street for a missing child report. A grandmother said her young granddaughter had disappeared from the home while she was sleeping. Fortunately, officers quickly investigated and resolved the situation.
By the afternoon, two homeowners on South Union Street reported vandalism, telling officers their houses had been pelted with food overnight. They suspected local kids were behind it after hearing noises around 3 a.m.
Evening brought more calls — including a disturbance on Engel Drive, and a suspicious person spotted entering the Dunkin Donuts on East Green Bay Street around 11:30 p.m. Officers checked the scene after witnesses saw a man force open a back door and go inside.
And just after 1:30 a.m. Monday morning, police handled a welfare check on East Fifth Street, where a woman was found crying in a parking lot after a loud argument.
Clintonville police handled a variety of calls Sunday. The day started with multiple business checks downtown, along with several routine traffic stops. Officers later responded to a report of a stray animal on Flora Way and an animal problem on Summer Street.
One of the more serious calls came just before 1 p.m., when police were involved in a brief vehicle pursuit on West Morning Glory Drive. No injuries were reported.
Later in the afternoon, officers investigated a missing person case on South Main Street. Additional suspicious activity was reported that evening near Auto Street, West First Street, and North Main.
Police also responded to animal complaints on West Second Street, provided an ambulance assist on Green Tree Road, and conducted an extra patrol near Memorial Circle to close out the night.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office had a busy Sunday with a mix of noise complaints, traffic issues, and welfare checks.
Deputies responded just after midnight to a noise complaint on Big Lake Road, where residents said loud music from a lakeside venue was keeping them up well past closing time.
Around 1 a.m., a Wittenberg woman reported her daughter failed to return with the family car, though the situation was later resolved.
In the overnight hours, officers checked out a suspicious vehicle on North Airport Drive and later assisted with a possible burglary alarm at a business on East Green Bay Street.
The day brought a series of 911 hang-up calls, minor crashes, and disabled vehicles across the county — including a stranded boat trailer near Cecil and a disabled boat along Highway 29 near Bonduel.
Deputies also handled a disturbance call in Birnamwood and a traffic hazard report of horses loose on a roadway, nearly causing accidents.
In Shawano, a caller reported gunfire in the Chrissie Circle neighborhood, with deputies investigating but no injuries reported. Later that evening, another caller found someone unresponsive on a couch inside a storage unit, though the situation was determined not to be life-threatening.
Elsewhere, deputies responded to reports of an injured deer on Highway 47, and just before midnight, a suspicious man was seen entering the Dunkin’ Donuts on East Green Bay Street, with authorities investigating possible forced entry.
The Stockbridge-Munsee Police also reported a suspicious situation near Murphys Road in Bowler, where something unusual was found along the river.
