Lyle L. Passehl, age 89, passed away September 11, 2025, at Cherry Meadows Hospice, Appleton.
Lyle Leroy Passehl was born June 17, 1936, in a farmhouse in the township of Pella in Shawano County, son to the late Henry & Viola (Mansee) Passehl. He was Baptized and confirmed at the Bethlehem church of Pella; graduated from the Fairview Grade school in 1950, and Marion High School in 1954. He married his high school sweetheart Alice Sanders on July 6, 1957. Together they raised three sons. Dan (deceased), Tom and Mike.
After leaving his home farm in 1960, Lyle worked as a cheesemaker for Stienhardt Cheese for several years and later for F.R. Buss & Company. He also worked as a machinist at the FWD Corp until 1967. From November 1967 until April 1992, he worked for First Wisconsin National Bank of Milwaukee at their computer center in Clintonville WI until retirement.
Retirement was an interesting time for Lyle as he started driving tour buses for Huettl Tours of Seymour. He made many ski trips to Colorado Springs and golf trips to several southern states. He was a gifted golfer who enjoyed the game and could definitely hold his own on the courses he played. Alice and Lyle enjoyed many of these tours together.
After the passing of his beloved wife Alice, Lyle spent the last nine months at the Aster retirement community. There, he continued to share laughter and stories with those around him. We would like to thank the staff and other residents for their care and kindness.
Lyle was a faithful member of the Marion Bible church. We would like to thank pastor Phil Hohensee and his wife Joanne for their prayers and continued support during both Lyle and Alice’s illness.
